We arrived back at the penthouse and Aurora had already disappeared to the bathroom. I'm guessing to wash away the stress of that whole ordeal. It was a mess. If it wasn't for Aurora I'm sure my grandfather would've shot her father there and then. I'm surprised at how lenient he's being toward her.

It's a smart move ofcourse, gain the favor of their daughter to side with him then there'd be no point in trying to threaten us because they'd be endangering their own kin. There was something odd from the beginning about their family if I'm being honest with myself. It made no sense as to why they'd force they're apparently beloved daughter into an unwanted marriage but that was never my concern... Until recently.

Stephen had done some digging into how Aurora had been treated within that household before coming here and it wasn't pretty. Some old cleaners and personally detail to her had mentioned the same thing repeatedly. She had been physically and emotionally abused between both her parents from the very moment she was able to walk. It's a dark reality but it doesn't make sense as to why they continued it.

Aurora is an incredibly smart woman, shes very calculated and has an amazing future ahead of herself, that's if she had the support system needed. So why abuse her into submission instead of just loving her and teaching her properly how to inherit the companies? Incompetent parents are the worst form of people. I have my fair share of that experience.

I seat myself on one of the balcony sofas while taking a breather, refreshing my brain before heading in.

"You'll get ill from siting out here in that thin shirt."

A soft arousing voice broke my trail of thought, keeping my eyes closed a whiff of camomile and cherries confirmed who it was.

"Aurora Blackwood worried for her unwanted fiance. Now that's impressive."

A contagious giggle left her lips as I felt her sit down on the other side of the sofa. I open my eyes turning my head to the side to be met with a breathtaking view.

Her hair curled perfectly down to her shoulders, her nose and cheeks a warm red tinge from the cold air nipping at her skin. Those tantalising lips letting out a soft huff of warm air visably intoxicating. Her mesmerising eyes glistened as they reflected the city lights at night.

She somehow made a million dollar view look worthless by just existing. She was enthralling without trying.
I used to grow exhausted from her being near me and now I find her ever more fascinating by the day. John and Claire Blackwood are relentless people when it comes to money, power and fame but atleast they created someone worth breathing this earth's oxygen. Unlike themselves.

She looks like a fox in snow wrapped up in that fluffy white throw over.

"Why do you refuse to sit in the back of cars without company?"

Her eyes flattered in sudden surprise. She must've thought I wouldn't notice. Stephen has mentioned every time she gets into the car she never seats herself behind unless I am there.

"I got into an accident when I was younger and it still has an effect on me now so unless I have company i can't comfortably sit behind the driver nor passenger."

Her hesitant answer led me to realise how much she had been through and how it was still effecting her every day routine. She turned toward me, catching me staring shamelessly. Her cheeks redden even more. Obviously embarrassed about the topic of conversation I try to ease her slightly.

"I was convinced I was gay at one point."

Her head flicks back to my direction, covering her mouth attempting to hide her laughter at the sudden confession.
