I wake up to my 'You Lie' chorus ringtone by The Band Perry. I specifically set this ringtone for one person. I pick up my phone and answer.

"What do you want, Ed?" I say into the phone.

"I want you! Shy, give me a chance to explain! You don't understand!" He yelled frantically into the phone. Tears start to prick my eyes.

"Oh, I don't understand, huh? You're right! I don't understand how you could go and cheat on me with my best..wait..ex best friend!" The tears really start to flow now.

"Shyanne...I love you!" He says into the phone.

"You should have thought about th-"

"Shy, please, baby." He cuts me off. "It was an accident!"

The tears start to dry as I think about his words. I shouldn't waste my tears on some scumbag like him.

"It was an accident?" I ask.

"Yes.."

"Well, falling off of your bike is an accident. You don't just trip and fall inside of my best friend." I scream. "Stop calling me. We're done. In fact, we never really started..since you've been cheating on me throughout our entire relationship. I hope she gave you things that I couldn't, like STD's."

"Sh-" I hang up the phone. I fall back on my bed and scream into my pillow. His ringtone goes off again and I just turn the phone on silent.

I get up from my bed and go over to my mirror. Pictures of us are all over it. I rip them off so they're scattered across the floor. Great, here come the water works, again.

"Damn you! How could you do this to me?!" I say through sobs and sink to the floor.

"Sweetie, you have to go to school today. I know you may not want to, but your education is important." My mom says while knocking on my door. "I wish you'd tell me why you're so upset!" And with that she leaves.

I get up from my tan carpet and walk over to my closet. Why does it have to be monday? I grab a pair of skinny jeans and a gray shirt. I pull them on then head to the bathroom. After I finish, I pull a brush through my wavy brown hair and put it in a messy bun. I slap on a little make-up and walk back to my room.

The pictures are still scattered all over the floor so I step on them as I grab my uggs from by my bed. I put them on then head down to the kitchen.

"Why won't you tell me what's going on in your life?" My mother says as I decend the stairs.

"I got to go mom, I'm going to be late!" I grab an apple and my keys from the counter and then dash to my car before she can say anything. I drive to my school and park my car. I grab my purse and head into the building. This school has been here for many, many years in our little town of Shady Grove.

I walk over to my locker in the sophomore hall. Number 379. I put the code in and then open my locker. Damn! I forgot I had pictures of us in here, too! Ugh! I rip them off and people gape at me as I throw them into the trash. We were a considered a 'power couple' so I assume their stares are in absolute awe.

I turn around and see one of the only people I can actually count on, my best friend, Blake. Now, Blake has had a crush on me ever since he moved to our town around three years ago. I would do almost anything for him. Key word: almost.

"Hey!" He says as he runs up to me. He pulls me into a hug. He always smells like the outdoors. It's refreshing, especially at a time like this. "I'm so sorry about Ed!" I push my head into his chest. I breathe in more of his outdoorsy scent.

"I guess you can say 'I told you so', now." I look into his blue eyes waiting for the words I know he will say, but they just never escape his mouth.

"Why do you say that?" He releases me and runs a hand through his dirty blonde hair.

"I knew that you didn't like him from the beginning and uyou were right." I look down and smile weakly.

"I'm not going to do that.." He lifts my chin so I am forced to look into his eyes. He coughs awkwardly. "Victoria and I..well, she broke up with me." He looks away from me.

"I'm sorry to hear that. You're too good for her anyways!" I put on a fake sad face but on the inside, I'm doing cartwheels and jumps! Victoria and I have mutually hated each other since she moved here in third grade. She's a royal b*tch and a bully just because she's popular. She has been making Blake do all of her slave work for her for the past few months. Boy am I glad that's over!

"Yeah, sure." He smirks. "I know you better than anyone! You're ecstatic about this, aren't you?" I sigh.

"Very." I say, but as I try to turn around something stops me. It's Blake's arm.

"I need to get her back." I'm still somewhat turned, so I know that he doesn't see my face. I take the opportunity to roll my eyes and mock his words. I turn so I face him again.

"Are you absolutely positive that you want to do that?" I ask, skeptically.

"Yes. There's just something about her." I sigh. I am partially disgusted by what I just heard and slightly curious as to what anyone could ever see that was good about her.

"And how do you expect me to help you?" I ask while crossing my arms in annoyance.

"You can be my girlfriend..." My mouth drops. "Well, my fake girlfriend."
