Chapter 20

I finish stuffing my suitcase into the trunk of my car next to Nathan's bag.

"Now, Daisy Mae what are Nathan and I going to do?"

"Go on a..date." She says making sure she rehearsed it right.

"Good. And where will we be?"

"At the movies." She pouts for a moment and looks up at me. "Can I come to with you..please? I won't bother you."

"Daisy Mae.." I squat down and grab her hand. "I know that. You never bother me. I just need you to make sure our cover is safe. At least until tomorrow. Think of it like this..your a spy and your helping your team of spys get in. But you have to make sure you don't blow your cover! Okay?"

Daisy nods her head excitedly and skips inside the house.

* 3 hours later*

"Marie? Do you mind watching Daisy Mae tonight? Nathan is going to take me out on a date to dinner and a movie."

I stop and look at Marie. Waiting for her to say something. Everything depends on her answer.

"That's fine dear. Have fun on your date!" She walks upstairs and calls Daisy to tell her that it'll just be her and Marie for dinner.

Nathan follows me outside and we get into my car. I start the car, my hand shaking. Nate grabs my hand and I look into his beautiful eyes.

"I'll be with you the whole way." He says warmly. My hand still tremmers in his but it's less noticeable.

"What if..what if I have to go live with her. What if I something bad happens. Wh-" Nathan kisses me midway through my sentence. His hand tangles into my hair. The other still grasping onto my hand. My arm reaches up to caress his neck. He breaks the kiss way too soon and I'm left wanting more. "That was a nice way of telling me to shut up."

He smiles and winks at me. "Let's get this baby goin'. We have somewhere to be."
