Fake girlfriend...fake girlfriend...the words buzz around in my ears. What does he even mean by that? If he likes Victoria why would he ask me to be his girlfriend? And what does he mean by fake? Does he think I'm a fake person? All of these questions circle around my head while a look of confusion forms on my face.
Ring. Ring. That's the bell signaling me to go to first period class. I grab my stuff from my locker and then remember that Blake's still here. I turn and look at him.
"I've gotta run Can we talk about this at lunch?" He pulls me into a hug. "Awesome! Catch ya then." He says without a response while he turns and starts walking to his first period class.
"I didn't-" I start to say, but see that he's already out of earshot and can't hear me. I turn and see Kristina walking towards me. I've been best friends with Kristi since she moved here from New Hampshire, in the fifth grade.
"Kristi..there's something I need to tell you.." I say. I still haven't told her that I found Ed cheating on me two weeks ago. I wouldn't take his calls until this morning. I knew I wouldn't be able to talk to him without either having a melt down or falling for his stupid games.
Her eyes get wide. "Oh, no. It's never a good sign when you start a sentence like that in your tone of voice." She crosses her arms and stares at me while waiting for me to say something. "Well?"
"I'll tell you while we cook and you have breakfast." She narrows her eyes at me. If there's one thing that I know about Kristi, it's that her love of food always gets the better of her, and I use that to my full advantage! "Unless you'd rather be late and have Mrs. Vicky not let us cook."
Her face appears startled. "No, no, no!" Her hands move back and forth frantically. I smile. Mission accomplished. "You can tell me then!"
"Let's go!" I say as we race down the hall. We make it to Mrs. Vicky's foods class just in time and get to our station. Mrs. Vicky does roll call and them tells us we're going to be making ooey gooey, crunchy munchy, chocolate, peanut butter goop! That's my favorite! Trust me, it's way better than it sounds.
I start getting the ingredients from Mrs. Vicky. She insists on us calling her by her first name so that she gets to get to know the students on a first name basis.I have no idea what her last name is. Mrs. Vicky is an older woman with a long nose and an odd set of glasses atop her face. Her beady eyes and the warts on her face make her somewhat resemble a witch. Her long black hair and obsession with brooms doesn't help very much with that comparison.
"Shyanne, can you pass me the chocolate chips?" Says a familiar voice. I turn around to find Claire, my ex best friend, whom my ex boyfriend cheated on me with.
