Chapter 10

"You're grounded." Mom yells as I race up the stairs. I open my door and get ready for bed. I finally lay down and fall asleep.

"Nathan!" I half whisper half yell. "Nate!" I walk up to his house. I look at the front door and its opened. I slowly go inside. "Natey! This isn't funny!" I see him run down the stairs.

"Ready for our date?"

"Date?" I ask, confused.

"Come on, sunshine." Nathan chuckles then grabs my hand. We walk out to his car. Wait when did he get a car? I look out at the sky and it's pitch black. I could've sworn it was blue a few minutes ago..

"Come 'ere." Nathan pulls me towards him and tilts my head back. His soft lips are on mine within seconds. I groan from the contact. My hands make there way to his hair and his make his way to my hips. I lightly tug his hair which receives a low growl from Nathan. We both pull back, breathless. He kisses my forehead.

"I love you, Shyanne."

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. I hit my alarm with my right hand. I slowly get up. What the heck. I even want Nathan in my dreams! I look at the time. 7:47 am. Dang it! I'm going to be late for school! I quickly get changed and then rush downstairs.

"Anne?" My mother yells from the kitchen. I groan in annoyance.

"Don't call me that!" I grumble at her.

"Why? Your father called you-" My mom starts to say but I cut her off.

"That nickname died when he left us." I grab my keys and start to walk to the door.

"Your father is..was..a war hero. He loves you very much!" My father died six months ago serving our country. I tried to convince him not to go but obviously, he didn't listen.

"Give Nathan a ride!" I hear as I exit our doorway. My stomach gets butterflies just at the thought of his name.

I walk out to Wanda and jump in. I hear the passenger door open and I look over to see Nathan. His big, blue eyes looking into mine. I internally sigh. I could look at him all day. My gaze shifts to his lips. I wonder if they're the same as my dream last night..

I lean forwards and our lips crash. He pulls back. And with that action my heart pings with rejection.

"Wait. Don't you have a boyfriend?" He appears confused.

"Well..I have a fake boyfriend." I try to gauge his reaction but his face is emotionless. "I'm pretending to date Blake because he's trying to get back his ex, Victoria." At the sound of Victoria's name, Nathan's eyes grow wide.

"So you're technically single?" I nod slowly after comprehending what he was trying to say. In an instant, his lips are on mine again. I moan and move my hands into his jet black hair. I pull and he groans. I break the kiss.

"We..were gunna..be..late to..school." I say between breaths. He smiles and gives me another kiss.

"Fire her up, princess!" He puts his feet on the dashboard. I glare at him and he immediately removes them.

"Babe! Where have you been!?" Blake says grabbing my arm. He glares at Nathan who's walking behind us. I turn around. 'Talk to you later?' I mouth to Natey. He gives an unsure nod and then glares at Blake. Blake and I walk to my locker.

"What the fuck you PANSY ASS! You left me alone last night!" I scream at him.

"I'm so sorry, Shy!" He gives me puppy dog eyes. I'm not falling for that!

"What was so important that you had to ditch me at 10:30 at night!?"

"I saw Victoria..she said she wanted to get back together." I giggle with relief.

"Good!" I smile and hug B-ster. I may hate Victoria but I want my best friend to be happy.

"I told her no." My jaw nearly hits the floor.

"W-wh-why?" I'm completely astonished. I still can't pick up my jaw from the floor.

"I'm in love with someone else." He admits while blushing.

"What? Who?" Then I hear a word that will change my life from now on.

"You."
