I walk back to my school and away from my problems. I don't know what to make of this mess. Everything is so confusing!

Nate doesn't even bother to catch up with me. He just stands there looking over the bridge at the little creek.

I turn my head slightly to look at him once more before he's out of eyesight. Nathan's gray t-shirt blows backwards slightly. The light breeze blowing back his messy, black hair. His black jeans cling to his hips. I can feel my mouth drop slightly before I clamp it shut. I look at his face once more. His chiseled jaw clenches as his eyes meet mine. Confusion, worry, anger, and something else is in his eyes. I look down to avert his eyes. I turn back around and head back to my school.

It takes about fifteen minutes for me to make it to my locker. Just as I put in the code and grab my bag for drama class the bell rings, signaling that I'm late. I curse under my breath as I rush around the corner of the hallway. Once I turn the corner, I trip over something and fall flat on my face, the items inside my bag sprawl all across the floor. I rush to put the contents back in my bag. The only thing I need is my notebook, which is being stepped on by a fluorescent red pump.

I look up to meet the evil, cold eyes of Victoria. She glares at me and fixes her dress. The zigzagged dress has a bunch of different colors ranging from green to orange to pink, but none of them are red. I half laugh, half snicker at her poor matching sense.

"Oh, Anne! I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Victoria snickers with a wide grin on her face.

"Don't call me that." I say between my clamped teeth.

"Anne? What's wrong?" She asks while crossing her arms. "Oh, by the way. I'm with Blake now, so stay out of my fucking way."

I get up off of the ground and stand less than a foot from her. I look her right in the eyes. "You should be a little bit nicer to me since I'm the only reason that Blake and you are even together." Fear flickers in her eyes and I take the opportunity. "One. Word. And you two are over." I lean towards her ear and whisper into it. "Done. Got that?"

I don't wait for her response. I grab my notebook off of the ground and walk down to my drama class. I look at my watch before entering. Huh...only five minutes late. Not too bad.

I've determined that I'm sick of putting up with Victoria's bullshit. I'm done. That was Shyanne, the timid shy girl who was bullied and didn't understand very much. She didn't know the things that I do. The secrets. The lies. The betrayals. But I do. I am Evelynn..this is the real, new me.
