Chapter 7

I gasp and back up a few steps. Nathan chuckles.

"So.." He grabs an end of the blue boa and holds it up. "Are you having fun being a queen?" He gives me a lopsided smile that shows dimples I didn't know he had.

"I..uh..umm.." I stutter. Well, this is working out well. "Actually," I say gaining my voice once again. "I'm a princess." I grab my boa from his hand and throw it back over my shoulder. I straighten my tiara that's on my wavy brown hair and cross my arms, waiting for him to say something.

"You could be my princess." He winks at me. I walk backwards a step, astonished by his approach at flirting.

"Shyanne!" Thank god! Mom saves the day. "Time to go. Say goodbye to Daisy...Mae and Nathan!"

"Bye Daisy Mae!" Her blonde hair flies behind her as she runs to me and gives me a giant hug.

"Will you come by tomorrow?" She asks giving me puppy dog eyes.

I smile at her. "I'll try. If I do..." I lean closer to her ear so I can whisper. "I'll bring Frozen and we'll dress..." I try and remember Nathan's nickname. "Natey up like a princess, too!" She giggles then nods enthusiastically.

I stand up straight and Nathan's right in front of me. "Goodbye, Natey." I smirk as I say the nickname his sister called him. I start to walk away when he grabs my arm.

"You can't leave without a goodbye kiss!" I try and yank my arm away, with no luck. "Please..? It can be on the cheek...this time." He smirks then points to his cheek with an index finger.

Seeing that he's not going to let me go, I lean forward to give him a peck on the cheek. At the last second, he turns just slightly and leans forwards so I and up giving him an actual kiss. His lips were so soft. It last for a few seconds, then I push him backwards.

I stand there, paralyzed with shock. That was my fist kiss. I just had my first kiss...

"O.M.G." Daisy Mae pronounces each letter. I turn and race out of the house after shouting goodbye to Marie.

Rinnngg. Rinngg. I pull my phone out of my pocket and answer it without looking at the caller I.D.

"Hello?"

"Hey, babe." Oh it's just Blake. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Oh, sh*t, I forgot about this whole couple thing." I say while opening the door for my mom and getting a questioning look from her. 'Tell you later.' I mouth to her.

"You wanna go out to pizza with me tonight?" Blake says, completely ignoring my previous statement. "I gotta talk to you."

"Yeah..I need to tell you something, too. Dave's Pizza?"

"M'kay. Bye..." he pauses. "Sweetie." He's acting so weird. Something must be wrong...
