Carina was lying on the hood of her car, her back against the windshield.

She'd just got her license three weeks ago. For the past three weeks, she had also been in junior year.
She'd been seventeen for just over a month and a half.
It was already late and she had a view of the whole of Seattle, beautifully lit up by thousands of lights.

She had her headphones in her ears and was listening to Olivia Rodrigo's Drivers License.

'I got my driver's license last week

Just like we always talked about
'Cause you were so excited for me
To finally drive up to your house
But today I drove through the suburbs
Cryin' 'cause you weren't around

And you're probably with that blonde girl
Who always made me doubt
She's so much older than me
She's everything I'm insecure about
Yeah, today I drove through the suburbs
'Cause how could I ever love someone else?

And I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay now that I'm gone
Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me
'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street

And all my friends are tired
Of hearing how much I miss you, but
I kinda feel sorry for them
'Cause they'll never know you the way that I do, yeah
Today I drove through the suburbs
And pictured I was driving home to you

And I know we weren't perfect
But I've never felt this way for no one, oh
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay now that I'm gone
I guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me
'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street

Red lights, stop signs
I still see your face in the white cars, front yards
Can't drive past the places we used to go to
'Cause I still fuckin' love you, babe (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Sidewalks we crossed
I still hear your voice in the traffic, we're laughing
Over all the noise
God, I'm so blue, know we're through
But I still fuckin' love you, babe (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)

I know we weren't perfect but I've never felt this way for no one
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay now that I'm gone
'Cause you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me
'Cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street
Yeah, you said forever, now I drive alone past your street'

She couldn't help shedding a few tears. Whenever she heard that song, it was instantaneous, and even more so in the last three weeks, since the song had played on the radio while she was driving down «her» street.

They used to come here.

Maya had been a seventeen-year-old girl for only a few days. Racing was very important to her. She trained at school, but also in the mornings and evenings.
Tonight, in fact, she was training. She'd done the grand tour, she needed to clear her head and on top of that, she knew her father was watching her training times.

She'd passed by Kerry Park. She'd always loved this place. Especially not so long ago. She had fond memories of her, even if that was all they were. She'd been in Junior Year for a few weeks.

She had stopped dead in her tracks when she saw this car parked there. This car and this girl. A little after the start of the school year, this car had appeared in the parking lot of her high school.
