The sports teacher.

Maya was a gym teacher at Station 19, a Seattle gym. The city of Seattle itself didn't have a Station 19 for firefighters, but many came here to train.

It was located near the Space Needle and Grey Sloan Hospital.

Maya was twenty-five years old. She owned the gym. She had won an Olympic medal a few years earlier and had decided to buy an apartment and a gym. It was something she knew a thing or two about, having played sports all her life.

The gym was open twenty-four hours a day and Maya spent most of her time there.

She was at the reception desk looking at something in the files, which didn't happen often. But in a way, she'd been there at the right time.

-"Hello, excuse me" asked a woman.

- "yes, my colleague is coming, please wait just two minutes" Maya replied without looking up from her binder.

- "no worries" she hadn't paid much attention at first, but now that she heard the woman's voice again, her accent, she looked up at her.

She had raised an eyebrow and her eyes had fallen on the body of the woman on the other side of the counter, she who was watching what was going on in the gym.
She had closed the binder and approached.

-"Excuse me. I didn't mean to sound... rude. Nice to meet you, I'm Maya, how can I help you today?"

-"Hello, my name is Carina, I'd like to register here".

- "so you're new"

- "yes"

The blonde hadn't done a new subscription in a long time, after all it wasn't her job. She had someone to manage the front desk.

- "okay, wait... write down your first and last name, phone number and address on this piece of paper please"

-"It works."

- "anyone sponsors you?"

- "yes Jo Wilson"

- "that's a doctor, isn't it?"

- "yes, I'm Dr. DeLuca, we're doing our residency together. I've been transferred from Italy for my last two years."

- "ah... we have... your... husband, right?"

Carina had laughed.

- "my little brother. Andrea"

- "Andrea? I have... Andrew DeLuca" she said, looking up from the computer.

- "His real name is Andrea. He's entering his first year of residency. He was in the clinic until then. He just doesn't like being called by his Christian name here."

- "okay, so pretty much everyone sponsors you?"

- "that's right. But I promised Jo, she wants one of those gifts you give..."

- "Maya had picked up a «Station 19» duffel bag where inside were a towel, a water bottle, a speaker and other little goodies that sponsors received."

-"Here, I'll give you one too. And when she comes next time, she'll have her bag. And so will your brother. I'll make a note of it."

-"Thank you very much".

- "do you need a coach?"

- "yes I think so, maybe not all the time but I may need it."

Maya had taken Carina's sheet and written on it.

- "okay, Dr. Carina DeLuca, do you have to go or can I show you around the room?"

- "no I've got time, thanks, everyone's been raving about the place, but I wasn't expecting this welcome"
