🦎Kimiko
A Week Later—2019🦎

I've spent the week practicing as I await an email from JYP Entertainment. I'm hopeful that I've passed my audition.

My father mentioned that an announcement was imminent regarding who would be returning. He noted that this time, those returning would have the opportunity to perform in his presence.

I'm never concerned about my dad being present when I dance or sing, unless there's a risk that someone will discover he's my dad.

My connection to JYP is a well-kept secret in the media, and it will remain that way until I decide I'm ready to be recognized as his child.

Despite his odd behavior, he's pretty much my favorite person on the planet. He has always been there for me whenever I needed him. Although he and my mom are not my biological parents, I love them just as if they were.

They've been my teachers in everything I know, and while they may be tough or persistent at times, I wouldn't trade them for the world.

My mom has been my guide in learning how to sing and master voice control. She taught me the importance of manners and respect. Despite their demanding public lives, they always squeeze out moments for me, which I deeply appreciate.

"Honey!" From the kitchen, my mom called out to me.

"Yes?" I asked, getting up and walking down to the kitchen.

"You need to eat something; you've been up there all day," she said. I nodded and took a seat at the kitchen island.

She pulled ingredients from the fridge, preparing to make Gyeran Bap. It's not a meal I usually like m, but her twist, a secret ingredient, makes her version irresistible to me.

As she cooked, we discussed my Instagram account and auditions, and she suggested we could go shopping. Once she finished cooking, she served me the food.

"Thank you!" I said, planting a kiss on her cheek.

"Mom, where is dad? Is he at the building?" I question her.

I hope so because that would mean he's meeting with the director of the audition to discuss who will be invited back.

"Yeah, he left an hour ago." I continued to eat as I nodded. After finishing my meal, I carefully washed my plate and hurried back upstairs to my computer to check for any new emails. I leaped onto my bed and hit refresh, and there it was—an email waiting for me.

From: JYP Entertainment

On behalf of the JYPE Casting Directors, we extend an invitation to Akiyama Kimiko to return to the company and perform in front of JYP. You will be given an additional week to practice your performance, which will include both singing and dancing. For those returning, you are already recognized as trainees. This callback serves as an opportunity to demonstrate your skills and potential to JYP. We look forward to seeing you again.

Best Regards,
JYPE Casting Directors

My excitement was uncontrollable. Being JYP's daughter doesn't guarantee any favors; he's made it clear that merit is what matters. If I didn't fit the criteria, this email wouldn't be in my inbox.

I'm curious if Hyunrin or Sunhi received the email. I pick up my phone to start texting the group chat.

Trainees?
Kimiko, Sunni, Hyunrin

Kim
Did you guys get an email from JYPE?

Sun
Yeah, it is shocking, but I am happy.

Rin
Guys, I got in even though I messed up!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim
Maybe they realized the potential you have.

Rin
Or they're desperate...

Sun
So glad none of us are eliminated.

Rin
If I got eliminated, it wouldn't be hard to just try again.

Sun
Or try a different company, there's more than just the big 3

Rin
You guys remember when we were telling each other about why we were auditioning?

Kim
Yeah why?

Rin
I kind of lied about my reason, but only because I thought you guys would judge me.

Sun
You can tell us, I'm not the type to judge, and I'm sure Kim isn't either.

Kim
Yeah, I have no reason to judge, I'm not that kind of person.

Rin
I have to be at JYP. My dream is to the biggest idol in JYPEnt and have Park Jinyoung notice me, I want to be with him, he's so hot.

Kim
...that's actually not bad

Sun
Yeah, we all have our favorite celebrities, but what would you do with JYP if he's our boss?

Rin
idk maybe ask him to dinner or something

Kim
like with other trainees?

Rin
no just us two, maybe at a romantic restaurant.

Sun
um, don't you think that's about inappropriate for you and him to be alone like that

Rin
it's not if we're gonna be together

Kim
but he's old enough to be your dad

Rin
so? age is only a number and you act like he's 100

Sun
I'm all for a an age gap but the age gap is too wide

Rin
I thought you guys said you wouldn't judge me

Kim
we're not trying to judge

Rin
it doesn't matter anyway, with the way things are going I'll meet him next week and I'll ask him out on a date

Sun
I don't think that's a good idea he might reject you, and you'll be embarrassed

Kim
What a bout a secret wife or kids?

Rin
you think that'll stop me?

My stomach dropped, is she being serious? There's no way she's actually talking like this about JYP. I know I said I wouldn't judge but I didn't know it would be like this.

Sun
I think you'd get kicked out for trying to be inappropriate

Kim
Hyunrin I don't think you should ask him out

Rin
Well I never asked for your opinions. I thought you guys would be supportive but I guess I befriended the wrong people.

Sun: that's really not what we're trying to do. We want you to think about this at least

*Rin left the group chat*

Sun
Do you think we should do something?

Kim
I don't know what we can do

Sun
we could prevent her from talking to JYP next week

Kim
I might have an idea...?
