Up and at 'em Upper East Siders. It's time to wake from our slumber and learn the hard truth that some nightmares don't end once we open our eyes.

Layla stood in her room at the Empire getting Sophie dressed. Now that she was walking and sort of talking things got a little difficult.

"She doesn't want to talk to me. I've tried." She heard Chuck say.

"When? Look, you haven't been outside in days." She heard her brother say,

"She asked me to leave her alone."

"You don't want to wait too long, Chuck, Or she'll think you don't care." Serena said.
"Excuse me." She heard Chuck say knowing perfectly well he left the room. She picked up Sophie and walked in to the other room where Serena and Nate were at.

"You think it worked?"
"No" Nate replied.

"Well, maybe you'll have better luck with Blair." Serena said to Nate

"Wait"

"What?"

"You're making me do this alone?"

"Breakfast with the Humphreys, remember? Let me know how it goes. Good luck." Serena said and left.

"Lay."

"I don't think so. Blair will not want to see me" Layla said knowing exactly why she was mad at Chuck.

"What do you know?"

"A lot more than you know and I am not getting in the middle. I've already tried reaching out to Chuck about it and he only pushed me away."

"Which means he did something bad." Nate said and hugged her "Bye Sophie."

Sophie giggled. Layla grabbed a juice and handed it to her. Chuck walked in dressed for the day.

"You look nice." Layla commented.

"Thanks I'm going to go win Blair back"

"Good Luck" Layla said kissing his cheek.

"Thank you, where are you headed?"

"Don't know. Being this single women is a lot different then having a man to spend time with."
"Well knowing you, you'll find away to do it."

"Say bye Soph."

"Bye-bye" she said waving. Chuck kissed Sophies forehead and headed out.

Layla went outside Sophie on her hip. She was headed to the park when she heard a familiar voice.

"Well if it isn't my favorite wife" she heard Carter say next to her.

"Only because you won't sign the papers" she replied. 

"Ever think there is a reason why?" he said. "That you and I are meant to be" 

"I'm not falling for that again. I told you I could never trust you again."

"Baby steps" He said grabbing her hand.

"What do you want from me?" She said taking her hand back.

"To open your eyes but I am going to let you do it on your own terms"

"Then I want an annulment if you want me to trust you"

"I wont sign it, just like I haven't the others."
