Morning, Upper East Siders. Hope you had a good night's sleep Or at least a good night's play.

Layla walked toward breakfast. Rufus had invited her over with the family. She had Sophie on her hip. Even though her daughter could walk and talk having her on her hip was a lot easier in New York feet traffic.

"Layla" she heard behind her and turned to see Riley.

"Riley, hey"

"Hey, I haven't seen you around Campus lately actually except those two times with Carter"

"Yeah I um, I don't think Juliard is the place for me. After this summer modeling I felt so free and I know not getting an education isn't good but its my life and lets face it I'm not exactly poor. I even spoke to my father about this a few days ago and he just wants me happy."

"You're talking to your father now?"

"Yeah, um some things went down there and I was worried about him and ever since I've been going regurally. I won't take Soph cause that's not a place for her but I'm loving reconnecting with him."

"That's good, that's wow, and you and Carter?"

"Officially divorced. Um he is I think now on D, I lost track."

"I saw the gossip girl post a few weeks ago was that the reason for it? The divorce?"

"No, we divorced before that, just someone from my past decieded to spread my secrets. Look I really need to go" she said.

"Okay, um good seeing you."

"Yeah"

Layla walked into the building and headed up stairs.

"Why don't you just ask her?" she heard Rufus say as she walked in the elevator. She set Sophie down and she ran in there.

"Because I have a vested interest in her answer."

"Sorry I'm late" Layla said walking in and sitting down, Dan just stared at her.
"Is something on my face?"

"No, just you late, its very uncommon."

"Right, so ask who what?"

"Serena."

"Right?"

"Things between us got so sidetracked after everything with Milo and and Vanessa. I just would like to get them figured out once and for all. I don't know how she feels."

"So take her to coffee or something and ask her." Rufus said.

"You're right. I'll just go find her on campus. I'm gonna go for broke today."

"I'm glad I could be so influential."

"Oh, no, it's actually the title of chapter one here "Going for Broke," but, um, you're awesome, too, dad." Dan said leaving."Great seeing you Lay, and the beautiful Sophie"

"What was that all about?" Layla asked.

"Dan being Dan"

"Self explanatory"

"Whats on your mind?"

"A lot, everything"
"How's school?"

"About that, I really don't want you and Lily being upset with me but I did what you and Chuck told me and I just hated music after a semester and Rufus I don't want to hate music. You know me and how much I love it"
