Thanksgiving began when the pilgrims and Indians Came together to share the bountiful harvest. On the upper east side, that tradition is upheld With a bountiful harvest of secrets, lies and scandal.

Layla walked into the living area and spotted Dan sitting at the desk on the phone.

"Yeah, but here's the thing- Olivia said she was leaving Because she thought that I-I had feelings for Vanessa. H-How-How would I even know? Well, she-he said she saw a look on my face. Oh, thank you. That really helps." Dan said into the phone.

She walked back into her bedroom and picked up Sophie and brought her out into the living room and sat her on the floor Infront of one of her toys.

"All right, well, tell him I said hello, And that thanks to last year's the longest yard, My knee can now predict the weather." Dan said then hung up.

"My brother?" Layla asked.

"Yeah, why didn't you tell me he was spending it with your grandfather?"

"I actually had no idea, I have been so self center lately with the whole I am dating an ex's brother. I mean those two seemed to be completely fine with it but I'm still so weirded out. And worse I invited the both of them to Thanksgiving at your parents."

"Did you tell my dad?"

"I just sent the text earlier" she said as the there was a knock on the door "You answer that I am going to go pick out what I am wearing tomorrow."

"Lace of course, its your thanksgiving ritual" he laughed.

Layla started to walk back into her room when she heard Vanessa's voice.

"So could I crash with you for a while? What's with the face?"

"Oh No No, this is my, um, my surprised, happy face." Dan said getting a confused look from both girls "Uh, make yourself at home."

Dan walked into his room. Layla picked up Sophie and walked into hers totally confused in what was going on. She went over to the door that divided the two and lifted it up.

"What's going on?" she asked sort of in a whisper.

"Nothing"

"That face, what face?"

"I guess I have a new face. I need to fix this"

"Good Luck Romeo." Layla said.

Later that night they all stood in the kitchen.

"Then she starts lecturing the poor cashier that Thanksgiving is nothing more Than a corporate agenda of the food industry masquerading as family sentiment." Vanessa explained.

"Oh, you know what? That reminds me. Um, if my dad asks, we followed the homemade recipe for his pie crust to the letter." Dan said.

"Why did we volunteer for pie again?" Layla asked

"Because you don't cook." Dan joked

"Right"

"Sorry for unloading. I just haven't had anyone to vent to since Olivia left." Vanessa said.

"Its totally fine, no ones vented to me in a while. I mean Dan turns to my brother these days." Layla said.

Dan glared at her.
