THE PILFERED PIECES OF ME

25 9 1

Can you look back and see,
And return the pieces you pilfered from me.
From being just random
and unknown to each other,
To be perfect and
inseparable from each other.
Look how far we came along,
from losing ourselves at first but
returning to where we truly belong.

Walking with you, forgetting about
our insecurities and worries,
Laughing with you, having silly fights.
Thinking about you for countless days
and sleepless nights.
Was it erroneous? When I
gently placed my head on your lap,
And opened the vaults of my vulnerable heart,
Allowing you to pilfer my heart,
Piece by piece and part by part.
But can you for one last time
look back and see,
And return the pieces
you pilfered from me.
