“Mrs De Luca. You need to come with us.”
I STARE AT THEM BLANKLY. These men really had the audacity to ruin my almost sleep because of this?.
With a sigh I start,"I'll forgive you just this once because you didn't know. You see before you so rudely barged in, I was about to fall asleep and I really really hate when my sleep is disturbed. Oh and I'm definitely not going anywhere."
The look on their faces almost makes me laugh but I control my emotions. The one in the middle, the biggest of them all steps forward.
He was built like a mountain with ink covering every inch of his skin, his hair pulled back into a ponytail.
He clears his throat before speaking. "Mrs De Luca-"
I cut him off before he could continue. "Miss Khan. Call me Mrs De Luca one more time and you won't be able to speak again."
His fist clenches then unclenches again, his eye twitches as if he wasn't used to people speaking to him that way.
"Miss Khan. Our capo requests your presence. You need to come with us.", He repeats.
I roll my eyes. "And I already told you I'm not going anywhere.", glaring at him I stand up from my seat taking a few steps in his direction. "Listen... Brady. Let's call you Brady. Tell your boss if he wants me, he can come get me himself."
I motion towards the door raising an eyebrow. A clear indication their visiting hours were over now.
One of the other men speaks to Brady, his voice giving away his fear. "boss won't like it if she's not with us."
"We can't touch her. You know his order's.", Brady replies back but looks straight
Into my eyes. A clear message being given. If he could, he would have.
I smile back at him.
I would've loved to see you try.
One by one the four men pile out of the room and I'm left in silence again.
I look over at Zarq laying on the hospital bed, "what have you gotten us into Zarq."
______________________________________________Fear.
I can smell it from a mile away, and these imbeciles reek of it. All of their heads hung low and on their knees, none of them being able to meet my gaze.
But here's the thing about fear.
I crave for it.
Giovanni pulls a chair for me and I lower myself onto it. Leaning forward, I inspect their pathetic faces. None of them were pretty. Relaxing back onto my chair, I smile. Satisfied I won't have to ruin anything pretty.
Giovanni hands me my gun and I take it from him, "I gave you a job.", My voice comes out completely controlled, at ease even as if it was a casual conversation between friends.
But they knew better. They knew I liked toying with my victims. Giving them false hope before I watched with pleasure as they realized I wasn't a man of mercy.
Watched in pleasure as the hope dies out of their eyes and In place only fear is left, watched in pleasure as that fear is still present in their eyes even after I send them into the afterlife.
"Yo-you said n-not to-", one of the men speaks but the bullet from my gun cuts him off. The men beside him whimpers as a bloody body drops onto his lap.
"So sad Gio. He didn't even get to pray for his sins to be forgiven.", I look over at Giovanni who is standing beside me stoically.
"He shouldn't have spoken without being asked to capo", he replies not daring to look at me instead his gaze was locked onto the idiotas on the ground.
"You.", I point to the ginger with the dead body on his lap with my gun. "Why is Zoya Khan not in front of me right now?", my words are coated in venom. Even speaking her name disgusts me.
The man trembles in fear before stuttering, "I- we-we d-did t-tell h-her to-to c-come w-with u-us"
"Not what I asked.", I shoot him straight in the head and his brain splatters all over the floor.
Great. Now there's a mess.
"You. The one with the long hair. What did she say to you?", trailing my gun over his jaw. "She said if our boss wanted her, he can come get her himself."
Interesting.
I do have to applaud long hair dude for not stuttering like a fool. "Kill the other one but keep this one alive", I order Giovanni before standing up and leaving the room.
The man's cries for mercy falling on deaf ear's.
Zoya will regret her words.
I'll make sure of it.
