I LAUGH AT NICOLE as she stuffs her mouth with chocolate cake.
"They're all judging me.", she mumbles, her mouth full of cake.
"Let them.", I shrug looking around to see many women giving side eyes to Nicole.
What's so wrong if a women likes her cake ?.
I chuckle when she blows me a kiss before going back to annihilating her heavenly chocolate cake.
Suddenly I feel someone's gaze burning into my back. Confused I turn around only to find Dante staring at me and clearly not listening to the conversation the two men with him were having.
My heart once again starts beating loudly and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't look away from him.
His eyes were keeping mine captive and I was a willing victim.
I raise an eyebrow at him hoping he'll look away now that I caught him.
Apparently that causes him to come out of whatever black magic he was under because the asshole Dante was back as he glared at me.
I roll my eyes before turning my back on him. He was so confusing. One minute he acted like he wanted to fuck me and the next minute it seemed like he would rather die than ever let that happen.
Nicole was now finished with her cake and was now going on and on about how bad the plastic surgery on the mayor's wife was.
"I mean, I'm not the one to judge but she should get a refund for those hideous lip fillers", she exclaims pointing towards the mayor's wife, Samantha.
Following Nicole gaze, my eyes widen at the women who looked like a failed experiment.
Samantha's lips were bigger than her entire face and she could barely talk. "That's definitely karma for corruption.", I declare and Nicole chuckles.
For the next hour, Nicole and I gossip about everyone present. But according to Nicole we were observing not judging.
Both of us stop talking as the temperature in the room drops and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Nicole seemed to grow alert as well and frowns, confused as to what was causing this sudden change in the atmosphere.
Dante's men rush over to our table, creating a protective circle around us, I look over at Nicole demanding silently to explain what was going on but she seemed just as confused.
Getting up from my seat, I push the man in front of me and walk over to where Dante was standing.
"What's going on ?", I demand. It was driving me crazy not knowing what was happening.
