The horse carriage was more like a people carriage, seeing as we were the horses. Fun! Not. "Sign me up!" Jay mocked.
"Way to go spark plug."
"I sense this is some strange form of team building." Zane said.
"Just keep pulling. We have a long way to go." It was silent for a bit before Kai spoke.
"So, where did sensei find you four?"
"Let's just say if it wasn't for sensei Wu, I don't think we would ever be seen together."
"You can say that again." I say with a bit of a laugh.
"I was testing my limits. Mountain climbing with no safety gear. When I got to the top, sensei was there drinking tea." Cole started.
"I was testing my invention. I made gliders. They worked until I crashed through a billboard, and sensei Wu was on the other side, also drinking tea."
"And I was testing myself, meditating under water. I look to my left and sensei is there with me. I almost drowned from shock."
"You're right, without sensei, I don't think any of us would be seen together. What about you, y/n?"
"I was the gem of my village, but I was restless. So, when Sensei Wu offered me to be a ninja, who was I to say no?" I didn't feel like telling them the full story, or the situation with my mom. I doubt she would care if I came back in a body bag to her, she would just rub it on my corpse's face that I got killed. The boys had their own stories they refuse to tell too, I'm sure. In time, I'm sure we'll all find those things out, but not right now.
"Huh. That's-"
"Stop!" Sensei called out, and we went the rest of the way on foot. "The caves of despair." He said as we reached our destination. "Samukai must be close to unearthing the scythe of quakes. Remember, do not use the weapon. For it's power-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it too great for us mortals. Alright guys let's chop-socket this lemonade stand. Cole, you got the plan?"
"Sure do. First, we lower ourselves down the ledge, then we- where's Kai?" He asked, and I scanned the area, seeing a flash of red behind some rocks.
"I found him." I said, pointing him out. Cole sighed, and grumbled.
"Let's go." He said as we all jumped into action. The four of us hid under a minecart, and when the skullkin weren't looking, snuck away under it. I have no idea how we weren't spotted, but thank the first spinjitsu master we weren't. We were all quiet under it, nobody daring to say a word.
Cole lifted the cart to see, and a skullkin was right in front of us. A flash of red passed by, and the skullkin was about to alert others, when we ambushed him. I broke a few of his ribs, while the others tore apart his bones and put them in different places, leaving him nothing more than a sentient pile of bones. He'll be fine though.
We clung to the bottom of the conveyer belt, and heard two shouting. "Ooh, ooh, ooh! I found something!"
"That's another rock you bonehead!" I bit my tongue as to not snicker.
"But it's shaped like a doughnut! I wonder if it tastes like one?" I heard him bite into it, and then scream in pain. I had to really try not to laugh at that.
Next, we were basically playing on the bottom of the rail system as if it were a bunch of monkey bars. I smiled. My brothers all loved monkey bars as children. Meanwhile, I wasn't allowed to go to parks. They snuck me to one once, and we got caught, and our mother made sure they never took me again, but oh was that day worth it. It was worth the belt, we all agreed on that.
