prophecy

When I got back to the guys, they were hovering over some sort of parchment. As I got closer, they started arguing about who was going to be a green ninja, and I got confused. What was going on?

I got closer and they stopped their fighting. They shuffled around awkwardly, and I looked at them confused. "What? What's going on?"

"Well Kai accidentally grabbed sensei's bag, and we found a prophecy about a green ninja." Jay said, grabbing what I now identified as a scroll. "Take a look! We're all there!" I looked, and sure enough, we were all on the parchment, surrounding a green figure. The boys took it as one of us would be this green ninja, but I took it another way. Maybe we were going to be the protector of this figure, whoever it might be.

"Huh. Cool."

"Cool?! That's all you have to say?! One of us is going to be this legendary figure, and you only have to say 'cool'?!" Jay almost yelled in my ear. I shrug.

"I just don't care too much. It's likely not one of us, so why bother getting worked up about this?"

"Exactly. Besides, there's a reason sensei likely didn't want us to see this. Come on. Lets head back home." We all got onto our dragons. The boys were talking about wanting to train again, and I rolled my eyes. They had gotten so lazy, but now they're wanting to train? Some boys.

We flew off, but I noticed Kai didn't follow immediately. He hesitated for a second, before Flame kicked off to follow us. What was that about?

On the way back, the boys were talking about how they wanted to train more with their weapons, and I had to admit, I did too, so eventually, we were all talking about what our weapons might do. "Well, it's got something to do with what's in the names." I started. "I'm stating the obvious, I know, but I can't help but wonder what all they can do other than the abilities they have in the names. I may not care about being the green ninja, but I am curious what our weapons can do."

"I know!" Kai said as we landed. "We'll have a tournament. Y/n, you've been the only one of us keeping up with training, so the last match will be the winner against you. Sound good?" I smile under my mask.

"I'm game."

"So, then we all agree, the prophecy states that one of us will become the green ninja, and the issue will not rest until the tournament is over."

"Last ninja standing will be the best."

"And be declared the green ninja. I love it!" We open the monastery doors to see Nya trying to beat her brother's speed record. Kai was third fastest out of all of us, while I held second place. Jay held first, but only by a few seconds.

'She's doing pretty good.' I thought to myself. But not even a second later she was hit by an axe and sent flying. I grimaced, and Jay ran up to her.

"Hey Nya, you trying to beat your brother's speed record again?"

"Yeah, I'm getting there." He helped her up. "Heard what happened in town. Just a false alarm?"

"Yeah. Uh, but we're gonna need the space. Sorry sis." Cole threw some armor at Jay, hitting him upside the head, and leaving him unimpressed.

"Three matches. Then the winner of the last one faces off against y/n for the title. Armors for our own protection. It's time to see what these babies can do." He held up his scythe.

"Hey Nya, want to stay and watch me mop the floor with them?"

"No thanks. I think I'll just visit jamanakai village. Knock yourselves out." She said as she walked away. As she left, the boys drew straws to figure out who was going against one another. Once we had the matchups, it was time to get started.
