I was up early the next morning, not really able to sleep. Sure, I got a few hours in, but it was far from a full night. I heard a gong crashing from the boys room and tied my braid. Headed to their room, I saw them all groggy, having been rudely woken up. "Evil doesn't sleep, and neither should you! In order to reach your full potential, we must greet each day as an opportunity!"

"Okay, okay, we're up. But if we're going to reach our full potential, shouldn't we at least get a full night of rest?" Kai yawned, trying to open the blinds, which simply fell to the floor.

"You call that rest? I think my back has more lumps than the mattress." Cole complained. Jay yawned, stretching.

"We were up so late talking about how cool it is to have a new headquarters, I guess we lost track of time." He turned on the sink, but I didn't hear water come out. Does this place even have working pipes? "Since the serpentine burned down the monastery, I'm just glad we have a roof over our heads-" The sound of spitting came from him, and I looked over to see toothpaste mixed with sand. Gross.

"You okay?"

"Peachy." He said sarcastically.

"What is our lesson today sensei? Mastering the strike of the scorpion? Or perhaps the grade of the- Woah!" The floorboards gave out beneath him, and I rushed to help him out.

"I think today's lesson will be chores."

"Chores?!" The boys were almost in an outrage.

"Ninja fight sensei, they do not clean." Cole said. I rolled my eyes.

"In order to respect ourselves, we must respect our new home and where we are from. And this place is a long way from being a ninja headquarters." I didn't have a problem with it, seeing as I was raised to be a housewife. I was about to start, when sensei grabbed my arm and lead me out. "I expect things to be spotless when we return. And put your backs into it."

"What?" I was confused.

"They must do this, while I take you to get new glasses and contact cases. You slept in them last night, and I will not allow it to happen again." I sigh. No point in arguing. He was absolutely right.

When we got back, I was wearing a new pair of glasses to give my eyes a break for the day, and the boys were playing video games. "What took you so long? And nice glasses."

"Thanks."

"Wow! This place looks amazing! You guys did all this?"

"Ninja don't just fight Nya, they clean!" Cole said happily. He certainly wasn't saying that earlier, but I guess he changed his tune.

"Oh. You have exceeded my expectations. The question is, can you keep it up?" The faint sound of a car honking rang through the air, and Nya and I looked out the window, only to see a scrappy looking car driving through the desert. What gives? I then looked, and saw what was no doubt, my oldest brother's car. I smiled.

"Looks like we're going to have some visitors. Loud ones at that. What's that other car though?" I laughed.

"That nicer car would be my oldest brother's. No doubt he has Ollie with him too." Jay looked to the other car.

"Oh, it's my parents. Please, if they start yapping, just don't get them going. They don't know when to quit, and if you start talking, then they start talking, and suddenly half the day is gone-"

"We get it! They talk a lot. The cherry doesn't fall far from its blossom."

"My brothers are both pretty chill once you get to know them, but they're pretty protective of me. They've let go some and understand I'm going to get hurt with my career choice, but if they see someone is emotionally hurting me, they won't hesitate to kick your asses. Just don't give them a reason to get defensive of me, and you'll be fine." I smile at them. Kai looks nervous, but I brush it off.
