The next morning arrived and Allison had to face many things she'd been avoiding.
For one, she told her college that she had to leave because of a medical emergency.
It was hard and she knew that she'd have to do it sooner or later but she knew that in the future she would pick it up again and she would become a cop and maybe even sheriff one day like her mother, but for now, all she had to worry about was her child.
The second was calling her sister and telling her the news.
She hadn't told her before since she wasn't even sure whether she was going to keep it or not, but after the events that had occurred yesterday, she knew that she was going to.
Allison slipped on a comfortable, black hoodie and then grabbed her phone and went downstairs.
She pressed call on her sisters name and then placed the phone to her head, waiting for her to pick up.
A few beeps later, her sister answered but it wasn't how she was expecting, "Hey, Ally." Caroline spoke from the other side of the line, her tone sounding stressed. Allison could hear a lot of clattering from the back and realised that it was probably because she was getting late or something.
"Hey, Care." Allison greeted, "What's up?"
"Uh, I'm great." Caroline said in a more high-pitched voice than usual. Anyone could tell she was lying, "So how's New Orleans?"
Caroline sandwiched her phone in between her ear and shoulder as she stuffed her bag with her books for her first lesson of the day.
"Uh, it's good." Allison brushed off, thinking that this might not be the right time to spring the news on her sister, "How's Stefan and everyone else?"
"They're uh, they're great." Caroline said in the same quick and hurried voice as placed her phone down on her bedside table and brushed her hair out with her comb.
"There's some big news I have to tell you but I'm not sure if it's the right time." Allison told her sister honestly.
Caroline's brows furrowed as her rush to get to lesson on time dimmed down, instead being replaced with curiosity with what her sister wanted to tell her.
"No, tell me."
"But Caroline, you're getting-" Before Allison could finish, her sister cut her off.
