Everything stopped. Seojoon’s man stopped fighting because their boss ordered it and Jungkook raised his hand to make his man stop as well. Everyone was just staring between the two bosses, waiting for what was going to happen.

Jungkook knew that if he just tried to raise his gun, Seojoon would pull the trigger and kill Taehyung. He knew him well enough to know that he wouldn’t hesitate to kill him in front of Jungkook and Yoongi, in fact, that was exactly what he’d love to do.

Jungkook wasn’t even looking at Seojoon, his eyes were on Taehyung and he knew what he had to do. There was only one option how to get Taehyung from this safely and how to prevent more of his men dying.

“Let him go, Seojoon and take me instead,” Jungkook spoke up, making everyone around him whisper in shock. Since the photos got to Yoongi, it somehow got out to the whole gang that the boss and Yoongi’s brother were involved together but no one knew how serious it was. Now they were completely taken aback by Jungkook offering himself instead of Taehyung.

Yoongi was probably the most surprised. He was staring at Jungkook in disbelieve, not believing his ears. Was he for real? Was he really willing to put Taehyung’s well being and safety before himself? Yoongi knew Jungkook would come to protect Namjoon or even him and Seokjin, Jimin and Hoseok but he couldn’t believe he’d do it for Taehyung. Maybe he was judging him too harshly, it was really hard to believe the boss could carry real feelings for Taehyung or anyone in general, really, but now, when he saw the determination in Jungkook’s eyes, he knew it was real.

“Is this some trick?” Seojoon growled, digging the barrel of the gun closer into Taehyung’s temple, making him whimper in pain. Jungkook’s eyes followed the action before he looked back at his rival.

“Not a trick,” Jungkook shook his head: “I know you want him dead because he tried to kill you but at the end of the day, you want me. You want me and my gang that you somehow think you are entitled to lead even though I am the rightful heir after Namjoon-hyung gave it up.”

“I should’ve become the leader because you are too weak!” Seojoon spitted out: “I’ve always seen it and I was right. Look at you, first you were up Jaehyun’s ass and now this little pathetic bitch. What kind of boss you are when you sacrifice everything for him? He has you wrapped around his finger, you are irrelevant.”

Jungkook didn’t say anything to that because in a way, it was true. Taehyung did have him wrapped around his finger. He never thought he could really love someone but here he was, not hesitating to give up his life for his lover. It was kinda ironic, really, he started toying with Taehyung for fun, wanted to wrap him around his finger to make him do his will but he fell into his own trap. He didn’t know what effect Taehyung would have on him and if someone told him a year ago, when Taehyung moved into their house, that he would be head over heels for him, he would’ve laughed at them. But now, being here, even in this situation, he wouldn’t take it back.

“I am serious, no tricks, just let him go and let him and my men leave and you can take me. I am sure you have plenty of ideas about what to do to me before you kill me, right?” Jungkook finally spoke up.

“Jungkook,” Namjoon stepped to him with concern.

“You know I’ll be okay, hyung,” Jungkook said quietly: “And I know you will find me.”

Namjoon opened his mouth to say something, not wanting his brother to get captured but then he just nodded in defeat. If this was what Jungkook wanted to do, it was his right. If he wanted to risk his own life for Taehyung then who was Namjoon to hold him back? Because frankly, if this was him and Seokjin, he would act exactly the same. Besides, he knew his brother and his skills, he trusted him, he wasn’t boss of one of the most powerful gangs in the country for nothing, he was strong and smart, he had faith in his skills.
