She was a good girl.
'Would you wait for your favorite sandwiches or the Princess is waiting for you?' Emily asked me, her eyes sparkling.
'Um, think I can wait!' I said. I knew I was late. But I could wait for the sandwiches.
It felt like a weight pushed off my shoulders.
I sighed and threw myself on her couch that made an 'ee' noise.
*my phone buzzes*
It was Mom.
'Mom?'
'Zack. Where are you?' She asked. She was angry
'Uh. Mom I'm in a shopping mall.'
'Shopping mall? What on earth are you doing in a shopping mall?'
'I was looking for suitable clothes to wear for the ball tomorrow night.'
'That's not your business. Come back home at once.'
'Bye.'
*******
'What's wrong?' Emily asked me.
'I have to go back home. I'm sorry, Em. Sandwiches some other day?' I said. I didn't want to leave.
'Is everything okay?' She asked.
'Yes. The princess is here, y'know.' I told her.
'Okay. Whatever you want. Be safe.' She said, smiling.
'I'll be safe for you.' I said. We both chuckled.
********
I entered the palace. I could see the flags of USA and UK everywhere. I hated everything, to be honest.
'Queen Isabella is expecting you, Prince.' A guard told me as I stepped up the stairs.
I nodded and ran to my room.
I quickly changed into something formal and neat.
'You're already late, your highness.' Cara knocked at the door.
I sighed and quickly ran into the drawing room.
I could see a beautiful girl in her early twenties, sitting on the sofa with pride. She was Princess Rivera, obviously.
I entered the room. All eyes on me.
'Uh, hello.' I said with a grin.
I shook hands with the Queen.
'Hello.' We both said.
The next was the girl I never wanted to see. It was Rivera.
'Hello, Princess.' I smiled and shook hands.
'Oh Hi.' She said with the best manners.
She smiled and I had to take a seat next to her.
I looked at my Mom, who was smiling at me uncontrollably.
I made a 'what's wrong' face.
She kept smiling so I had to look somewhere else.
'You're really handsome, Zack.' The Queen said, smiling at me.
'And you're ravishing.' I said, looking at her from head to toe.
'Why don't you take Rivera to the royal gardens, Zack?' Mom asked me.
What?! I didn't want to do that.
'Sure.' I said, with a smile. I didn't have to be rude, obviously.
'Come let's go.' Rivera said, smiling at me.
'Come let's go.' I repeated her words.
I got up of the sofa, quickly. She took five minutes to get up. She was wearing a dress, did I mention that?
She was beautiful. But no matches with Emily.
I looked at my Mom, who gestured me to hold her hand.
No! What did she want me to do? Hold her hand?

'Let's go.' Said Rivera
'Yea. Let's go.' I mumbled.
So Cara took us to the Royal carriages and the princess was supposed to pick one of those for a ride.
She picked a pink one. Girls I tell you.
'Are you sure you're the British Princess?' I asked her as we took seats.
'What do you mean?' She asked in her stupid accent.
'I mean. I thought you were just a daddy's princess.' I told her, meaning to be rude.
'Oh my Zack! What's wrong with you? You look so good. I thought your heart was good, too.' She said like a typical girl.
'Sorr-' I said.
So the ride began...
