The elevator led us to the floor where Zack was. They had booked the whole floor for him. He was the Prince after all.
So we were now facing the room's door. The Queen was standing in the door. Oh my God. I couldn't quite believe that. I was standing in front of the Queen. The Queen. It wasn't the time for screaming at her so we talked normally.
'Hello your Majesty.' We both bowed.
'Hello girls.' She smiled. 'Who's Emily?'
'That's me.' I smiled back.
'You're beautiful, honey. Zack wants to see you.' She said.
'Thank you so much.' I said.
I opened the door and went inside with Ariana.
'Alone.' Said the Queen.
Ariana stopped and let me go.
I entered and closed the door.
I saw a feeble man lying on the bed. He was Zack, smiling at me.
'Zack!' I screamed and ran to him.
'Emily.' He said, embracing me in a hug.
'I'm so sorry. I didn't know you still love me.' I said.
'You should've known. I'm sorry, too.' He said.
'Why are you sorry?' I asked.
'I don't know why I talked like that to someone I love.' Zack said. I could see two things in his eyes. He was ashamed and scared. Wait a minute. Eyes! I saw his eyes. What was wrong with his left eye?
'Zack. This eye of yours. What's wrong with it?' I asked.
A tear fell from his eyes.
'Hey?' I said.
'It--it's not working. It's permanently blind.' He told me.
'What? You only had an accident. What's with the blindness of the eye?' I asked him. This was getting confusing.
'I didn't have an accident. I have a brain tumor, Emily.' He said.
My jaws dropped as I heard these words.
'Zack?' I whispered.
'But don't worry. It's curable.' He told me.
'Are you sure?' I asked him.
'Obviously. The doctor said he could do anything to save the Prince.' He told me.
Hah. Prince. The Prince was on the bed, fighting cancer. I never saw him so helpless.
'Oh Zack.' I sobbed and began to cry.
'Do not cry. We're back together. You should be happy.' He said.
I smiled a little.
'What'd you do to Rivera?' I asked.
'She's such a fake. She wanted me because I'm the Prince. When she heard about my cancer, she called her Mom and told her that she's done. She couldn't marry me because of my eye.' He told me.
'Don't tell me.' I was surprised.
'Forget it.' He mumbled.
'Where is she now?' I asked him.
'Way back home, I think.' He said.
'Why did you both start it when you knew you won't get married?' I asked him.
'It was our parents who wanted us together. Not us. They had some national interests in this marriage. It wasn't just two people getting married, it was two kingdoms.' He said.
'What national interests?' I asked him.
'USA and UK are the two most powerful kingdoms of this time. This alliance would be beneficial to both these states.' He explained.
'That was weird. Why didn't your parents care about your choice?' I asked him.
'I don't know. Do you know when did I last talk to Dad?' He asked.
'It was three weeks ago.'
'Why is that?' I asked.
'Mom and Dad are both busy running the country. They don't know what food Albert and I like. They don't know anything.' He told me.
'Zack. Don't worry.' I said.
*someone knocks the door*
'Yes?' I said.
A red head entered the room. It was Ariana.
'How are you, Zack?' She asked, wiping her tears.
'Oh Ari! I'm better.' He said with his usual smile.
'You're living more, okay? You're not dying.' She said.
'Who said I'm dying? The Prince always wins, girl. He wins.' He chuckled.
