Rey POV
The arena was packed. The smell of sweat, blood, and adrenaline hung thick in the air.
I rolled my shoulders, adjusting the wraps on my hands as I made my way toward the back after finishing this match easily. The fights were all that mattered right now. My focus was sharp, locked onto the upcoming matches , onto proving myself.
I wasn't thinking about her.
Not in this moment.
Not until I heard my name.
I turned, eyes scanning the crowd, and then—
"Reyy!" She yelled, her voice cutting through the noise of the arena as she made her way toward me.
As I watched her approach, memories flooded back, uninvited.
*Flashback*
"Reyy! Mom said I can't have my favorite juice unless I share with you!" Ume said, holding the bottle of juice out to me. We were only five, and we were inseparable.
*Another flashback*
"Rey! I fell and hurt myself..." She cried, holding her scraped knees as she limped toward me. I pulled her into a tight hug to comfort her. "You need to be more careful, dumb-dumb," I muttered, trying to stop her tears while tending to her wounds.
*End of flashbacks*
"Rey!!!"
There she stood, calling my name the way she always did when we were kids.
But now, she was a grown woman.
Beautiful. The whole block envied our family because of her.
Those same bright hazel eyes we shared.
The same tan skin.
The same curly hair.
But it was more than just our looks.
Her presence.
Her time.
Her energy.
It's what everyone wanted. It's what everyone craved.
I couldn't move. I just stood there, watching as she approached.
My sister... my blood.
She stood just outside the ring, eyes wide, breathless from running, like she had been chasing after me. Like she was happy to see me.
She looked... different.
Her hair was longer, She carried herself like someone who had finally settled into their own skin.
She was different....
She was also way too fucking easy to find.
My stomach twisted, but I kept my face blank.
After all this time, after all the questions, all the loose ends—I find her here? Just like that?
I had spent years thinking about the moment I would see her again. Wondering if I would have to search, if I would have to fight for the chance to even look her in the eye.
And yet—
Here she was. Standing right in front of me like it was nothing.
Like she wasn't even hiding.
That should've been a good thing, right?
But instead of feeling relieved, I felt pissed.
Because if it was so damn easy to find her, why hadn't she ever come looking for me?!
