Kozue's POV
Ume texted me late one night, letting me know she'd be staying with Hanayama for a while.
I knew what that meant.
It meant he saw her.
It meant she told him.
Days passed, and just like that, she was tucked away in his world—one I wasn't really allowed into.
I could visit her, but only at Hanayama's house.
And even then, it always felt like I was stepping into his space.
Still, we made the best of it. We painted our nails, gossiped, talked about stupid things to pass the time. It almost felt normal.
Almost.
Her bruises faded fast, vanishing like they'd never been there. And before we knew it, it was like nothing had happened at all.
Ume's POV
The days blurred together. My body healed quickly, and with it, the tension between me and Hanayama melted away.
At first, things were quiet between us.
Not cold. Just... heavy.
But slowly, we slipped back into place.
Back to us.
There was a peace in just being together—
And... we couldn't keep off each other.
We were in his room, and he had me pinned against the wall, our bodies tangled, breathlessly.
"Han-Hanayama, wait... mmmh," I gasped as his hands explored every inch of me, and he thrusted deeper into me—slow, heavy, unstoppable.
He had meetings to attend. Important people to see.
But he didn't care. Not when he could have me in his arms for just a moment longer.
Eventually, we got enough of each other. He picked me up and laid me on the futon, kissed my forehead, and slipped away to clean up before heading out.
We were like animals in heat—reckless, unstoppable, unapologetic.
We'd sneak around and do things in his room, his office... even places we definitely shouldn't have. Once, we almost got caught by one of the maids.
It was dangerous.
And we loved it.
But eventually, reality started knocking again.
It took days of convincing—begging, really for Hanayama to let me go out alone.
And even when he finally agreed, he made it clear he wasn't happy about it.
Still, I got what I wanted.
I went back to work. Back to training.
Back to the little apartment.
I still hadn't spoken to my grandmother.
But I knew she was fine, Kozue's mom made sure of it.
That should've been enough.
But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that things weren't really over.
Not even close.
And then, I started feeling sick.
And I never really got sick.....
