Janice looked hurt by her daughter snapping on her. "Natalia Rose, why do you hold so much hostility towards me? I'm only trying to keep Cayden safe."
"You mean keep him from learning about the truth? Let me ask you this, is Cayden aware that he's adopted, just like I am? Is he aware that we aren't biological siblings? Because I don't want Cayden to find out that he's adopted the way that I myself had found out. I found my father, or what is left of him anyway. Were you aware that he was killed? Were you aware that my father was torn apart? And my mother, I found out she died while giving birth to me. I also did a bit of digging in Cayden's mother as well. I found out that she killed herself shortly after she was forced to give him up. Are you aware of this? Why do you keep the truth from him? Don't you think that he's worthy of knowing the truth," Natalia Rose snapped on Janice.
"I kept it secret from you because I knew you were different. I knew that you had a secret that had to be protected. I keep it from Cayden because I don't know how he will react to it. Cayden can't learn about how he too is different," Janice said.
"Don't worry. I didn't say a damn thing to him. But it's only a matter of time before he starts to notice strange things happening within him. You can be the one to explain all of that to him," Natalia Rose said.
"Where are you going," Janice asked.
"Somewhere you will never find me. Don't worry. I'm a grown woman now, who can take care of herself. Don't bother sending cops to look for me. They won't find me either," Natalia Rose said before walking out the door.
Janice sat down at the kitchen table feeling defeated when her husband walked in and noticed her sitting there.
"I take it you tried to talk to Tally, and the talk didn't go so well," Dean said.
"That's an understatement. I tried to talk to Natalia Rose, and she refused to talk to me. If anything, she thinks that I hate her, and that I want nothing to do with her, which isn't true. I love our daughter, but she's changed," Janice said.
"Janice, you need to stop worrying so much. Tally is a teenager who is looking to spread her wings and fly. She doesn't want overbearing parents smothering her all the time. Besides, you would always get on Tally when she would try and do something adventurous. Do you blame her for not wanting to tell us where she is going, or where she is living now? If you were to find out, you would find an excuse to go and pay Tally a visit; which would only push her daughter away more. Do you want that," Dean asked.
Janice let out a defeated sigh. "I don't want that at all and you know that. I just want my little girl back. You know, the one who would run through the house calling for mommy, because she had something that she wanted to tell me; or show me. Now Natalia Rose barely speaks to me about anything. I sometimes can't help but feel like I pushed our daughter to hate me the way that she does now."
"Give Tally the space and time that she needs. She will come to her senses and need her mommy again. But you need to ease up too," Dean said before walking outside to where his daughter was opening her car to load it up more. Dean walked over giving his daughter a slight nudge, gaining her attention. "Mind giving your old man a minute of your time?"
Natalia Rose stopped what she was doing and turned to face her father. "You know I always have time for you. What is it that you need?"
"I just want to know why you go out of your way to push your mom away," Dean asked.
Natalia Rose sighed. "She pushed me away first when I started having nightmares myself. She would always tell me that I was making things up to gain attention. So, I had gotten used to it and stopped making any attempt to give a shit. I stopped caring and left. I did some odd jobs here and there saving up money and now have a place of my own to call home. Hence why I am here picking up all of my things now."
Dean sighed. "You know your mother didn't mean any of that. She was just so unsure of the things that you were going through that she didn't know what else to say. Please try to make amends with your mother and let her know that everything is alright. She worries about you too."
"I don't think there is any making amends between mom and I. I'm sorry but I should be grabbing the rest of my things and leaving before mom believes that there is a chance to save what is already destroyed," Natalia Rose said before walking away.
Janice walked out of the house noticing the defeated look that Dean had on his face. "I take it your talk didn't go over well with her."
"She's still hurting Janice. She feels that you didn't care about her and that feeling only got worse after she started having nightmares. She feels like you pushed her away in her time of need. Now she has her guard up and doesn't trust anything that anyone says to her," Dean explained.
"Dean, I didn't mean to push her away. But that was the first time that I had to deal with those kinds of nightmares before. You don't suppose those nightmares are real, do you? Do you believe that our little girl is truly safe where she is moving to," Janice asked.
"Janice, calm down and let Tally have her freedom. One you do that, then Tally will come back and make amends with you. She just needs some time to go out and be free for a bit," Dean said.
"Do you believe that it will work," Janice asked.
"I'm sure it will," Dean said.
Natalia Rose grabbed the last big of her things bringing them down to her car, loading the car before hopping in her car making her way from the home, she grew up in. I'm sorry Cayden, but I have to leave in order to keep you safe. Hopefully you won't come looking for me. I need to get away to try and keep you safe, Natalia Rose thought to herself as she started making her way from her family home.
Natalia Rose continued making her way to her destination, hoping that she would make it before nightfall.
Natalia Rose stopped to get gas when she felt a presence behind her. "What are you doing here?"
"You know he only allowed you the day to go back to your family home to get everything that you needed. But you went against his wishes and stayed the night. Do you have any clue how pissed off he is with you," the person spoke.
Natalia Rose turned and spotted Kino standing there. "I had some unfinished business to take care of with my family. I don't want them to come looking for me. Now you be a good boy and go back and tell your owner that I am on my way and that he can wait a few extra minutes."
"You are on thin ice with him as it is Natalia Rose. He has been nothing but patient with you. But you seem to forget everything that he has promised and gave to you, it can all be taken away from you within a blink of an eye. All he has to do is say the words and your family can be killed in a heartbeat," Kino said.
"He gave me his word that my family would be safe if I left them willingly and joined him by his side," Natalia Rose said.
"Don't forget who staked claim on you; even if you hadn't agreed to leave your family willingly, he would have found a way to get you. Also keep in mind that he will do as he sees fit with you. You are now his to do as he pleases; and he doesn't need your permission to do what he wants with you," Kino said causing Natalia Rose to cringe.
"Tell him that I will be there shortly and that I won't fight the punishment that he has in store for me," Natalia Rose said, knowing damn well she would do what she could to get out of the punishment anyway.
"Good girl," Kino said before walking away.
