Cap Asks Crystal To Marry Him

Chapter 13

The next morning at the hospital, Crystal woke up to Steve sitting in a chair beside her bed asleep. Crystal couldn't get over how handsome he was. Crystal reached over and touched Steve's cheek. Just then Steve wakes up and sees that Crystal was already awake. Crystal smiles at Steve and he smiles back at her.

Steve asks, "How do you feel this morning?"

Crystal answers, "I'm sore and hurt but besides that I feel ok."

Steve asks, "Why did you do that? I could have moved out of the way in time."

Crystal replies, "Because I didn't want to see you killed. I love you too much to lose you."

Steve takes Crystal's hand into his and holds it. Then he brings her hand to his lips and kisses her hand.

Steve looked into Crystal's eyes and said, "You will never lose me. I will always be by your side....forever."

Steve continues, " Crystal, will you marry me?"

Crystal's eyes got big with shock and amazement. She couldn't believe that Steve actually asked her to marry him. She was in total surprised by his question. Steve asked Crystal again:

"Crystal, did you hear me? Will you marry me?"

Crystal finally found her voice and said, "Steve, are you sure you want me as your wife? You know what I am and what I have done in the past."

Steve answers, "Yes, I know all of that and I still want to marry you because I love you. You will never be alone again because I will always be here for you. You will never have to want for anything because I will give you everything that you need."

Crystal drops her head and starts to cry. Steve asks her.

"Crystal, why are you crying? Did I say something wrong?"

Crystal raises her head up and looks into Steve's eyes then said,

"No, you didn't say anything wrong, in fact, you said all the right things, but you deserve someone better than me to be your wife."

Steve answers, "I don't want anyone else, Crystal. I want you,"

Crystal started crying even harder. Then she finally said,

"Yes, Steve, I'll marry you."

Steve got up out of his chair and went over to Crystal's bed then bent over and kissed her very tenderly on the lips. The nurse came in as Steve was kissing Crystal. The nurse said,

"Stop that! She needs her rest!"

Steve turns around and tells the nurse,

"We just got engaged!

The nurse said,

"Well, congratulations but she still needs her rest."

Steve replies, "Of course."

Steve turns back to Crystal and tells her, "I'll be back after the nurse gets finished with you."

Crystal smiled at Steve and said, "Ok, as long as you promise to come back in here."

Steve replies, "Of course my, darling."

So, Steve leaves the room to allow the nurse to take care of Crystal.
