Spike And The Gang Escape

Chapter 17

As Steve and Crystal walked hand in hand back to Steve's apartment, Crystal tells Steve,

"Thank you for believing in and loving me."

Steve just smiled at Crystal and said, "You don't have to thank me for anything. In fact, I should be thanking you for giving me something or someone to fight for again. I haven't felt like this in a long time. I never thought I could feel love for anyone since I lost my first love, Peggy but you changed that for me. I know now that true love really does exist now that I found you."

Crystal smiled and said, "I'm glad I could help you move on."

Steve said, "Well, we are both moving on with our lives and we are doing it together."

Spike and the rest of his gang were in jail, thanks to Steve and Crystal. Spike swore that he would get his revenge on them somehow, someway.

Spike tells Friz, "We have to get out of here and make those two pay for what they did to us."

Friz said, "How do you suppose we pay them back when we are stuck here."

Spike said, "I'll find a way. You'll see, I'll find a way."

One day at the jail, the officer on duty went in to check on the prisoners. When he went in there, he found that one of the prisoners was lying on the floor. So, he tells the other prisoners to back off so he could check on the one that was on the floor. When the officer bent down to check on the prisoner, Spike hit the officer from behind. Spike quickly grabs the officer's gun and tells Friz to get off of the floor.

Spike tells Friz, "Let's go. We have some paying back to do."

Friz asks, "How do you plan on finding them, Spike?"

Spike said, "It won't be that hard, Friz. All we have to do is cause some trouble and they we find us. So, let's go and cause some trouble."

When Captain Williams walked into the jail, he noticed that the cell was empty and there was an officer in the cell knocked out.

Captain Williams asked the officer, "Are you ok? What happened here?"

The officer said, "I'm sorry captain but when I came in to check on them, there was one lying on the floor. I thought he needed help. So, I went in there to check on him and then I was knocked out."

Captain Williams said, "We have to get a hold of Steve and Crystal. Those prisoners will probably be going after them."

So, Captain Williams and the officer went to find Steve and Crystal. Steve and Crystal were sitting on the couch watching tv. There was a knock on the door Steve said,

"I'll get it. You finish watching the movie."

When Steve opened the door, he saw Captain Williams standing there.

Steve asked the captain, "Is there something wrong captain?"

Captain Williams said, "There could be, Steve. Is Crystal here."

Steve said, "Yes, she is here. What's wrong?"

Captain Williams said, "There was a prison break at the jail. Spike and his gang have escaped. I figured that they will be looking for you and Crystal. So, I thought I would give you a heads up to be on the lookout for them. We are spreading out and trying to find them before they get to you."

Steve asked, "How did they escape?"

Captain Williams said, "It was that old trick of pretending to be hurt or sick so someone will open up the cell. Well, this officer that was on duty is new to the force and wasn't aware of this deception."

Steve asked, "Was the officer hurt badly?"

Captain Williams said, "No, he's fine. Just embarrassed."

Steve said, "Thank you for letting us know. We will be on guard."

Captain Williams said, "You are welcome. I just hope that we find them before they come after you and Crystal."

Steve said, "Don't worry about us, I can handle Spike and his gang because I have friends of my own that will help me if I need them too."

Captain Williams said, "Oh, yeah. I forgot that you were an Avenger. Your Avenger friends would help you out if need be."

Steve said, "That's right captain. My friends will help if I need them to."

Captain Williams said, "Well, I better get going and try to find those thieves."

When Captain Williams left, Steve looked over at Crystal then said,

"Don't worry honey. My friends will help if I need them to."

Crystal asked, "Are you sure?"

Steve answered, "Yes, I'm sure but to be on the safe side, let's go to Avengers Tower."

Crystal nodded her head yes.

Steve and Crystal left for Avengers Tower, they had only been gone for a few minutes when Spike and his gang came bursting through the door.

Friz said, "They are not here, Spike now what do we do?"

Spike said, "They couldn't be gone long. Let's go!"
