Chapter 23
Friz and the other gang members were no match against the Avengers and the police combined. It wasn't long before the police had the gang members handcuffed. The Avengers went in search of Steve and Spike. They found them fighting between the trees with Steve getting the upper hand. Since it was a one-on-one fight, they didn't interfere. It didn't take Steve long to knock out Spike. Captain Williams came over to the Avengers. Steve was out of breath but ok. When Steve caught his breath, he tells the captain,
"He's all yours captain."
The captain motions for two officers to come over and handcuff Spike then take him and the others back to jail. Steve looks around and asks,
Captain Williams said, "They are over beside the Avengers' jet. Crystal is worried about you. So, I think you need to go over there and talk to her."
Steve smiled and said, "Yes, I better."
So, Steve walked out of the woods and went to find Crystal. He saw Crystal standing beside the jet alone with Sherry. When Crystal saw Steve coming, she started to run to him. Steve saw Crystal running to him, and he opened his arms up so she could run right into them. When Crystal reached Steve, she hugged him.
Crystal said with tears in her eyes, "I thought I would never see you again."
Steve held Crystal tight and said, "I told you that I would be back for you, and I keep my word."
When the Avengers walk back to the jet, they see Steve and Crystal in a passionate embrace. Tony tells Steve and Crystal,
"Why don't you get a room?"
Steve looked at Tony and said, "Why don't you shut up Stark."
Nat said, "Leave them alone Tony."
Tony said, "What did I do? I just told them to get a room."
Nat said, "Don't pay him any attention."
Steve said, "Don't worry I'm not."
Everyone boarded the Avenger's jet and went back to Avengers Tower. Captain Williams and his wife went back to their home and police officers took Spike and his gang back to the jail.
When the Avengers arrived back at the Avengers Tower, Steve and Crystal said their goodbyes and left to go back to Steve's apartment.
