Spike Takes Sherry Hostage

Chapter 21

At the daycare, Sherry was just finishing cleaning after her last child had left for the day. Sherry hears a noise outside of her daycare. So, she went out to see what it was. As soon as she opened the door and stepped out, someone grabbed her. Spike tells Friz,

"Now we have something to trade."

About time, the Avengers arrived. Steve said,

"Oh no, they already have Sherry. We were too late to stop them."

Tony said, "Don't worry, we will get her away from those idiots."

Steve said, "Well, we better do it now, Stark, before they hurt her."

Clint landed the Avengers jet down close to the daycare, when Crystal saw Sherry being held by Spike it scared her because she knew what those men would do if they didn't get what they wanted. Crystal asked Steve,

"What are we going to do?"

Steve said, "We will get her away from them."

Crystal asked, "How?"

Steve said, "I'm not sure yet but we will get her away from them."

The Avengers and Crystal left the jet and walked towards Spike and Sherry. Just then the police came and when Captain Williams saw his wife being held by Spike, he almost lost it. The Avengers walked over to the police and Captain Williams. Captain Williams asked the Avengers.

"How long have you been here?"

Steve said, "Not very long."

Spike yells at the Avengers, "If you want this woman back in one piece, then have Rogers and Crystal come over here then I will set her free."

Captain Williams said, "He's lying. He won't let my wife go even if you go over there."

Steve said, "We don't have a choice captain. We have to do it."

Tony said, "You know he won't keep his word. Right?"

Steve said, "Yes, I know but what choice do we have?"

Steve looks at Crystal and she nodded her head yes. So, they started walking towards the gang. Sherry sees Steve and Crystal walking towards her and she yells out,

"Don't do it! Go back!"

Spike yells at Sherry,

"Shut up woman or I'll kill you right now!"

Sherry tells Spike, "I'm not afraid of you. My husband is the captain of the police department and he will rescue me."

Spike said, "Oh, I didn't know that we had the captain's wife. That makes this even better. We have double security. Now I know that we will get out of here without any problems."

Sherry said, "You said that you would let me go if they came to you."

Spike said, "That was before I knew that we had the captain's wife. Now we have extra protection because your husband won't do anything to endanger you."

When Steve and Crystal reached Spike, Steve said,

"We are here Spike, now let Sherry go."

Spike said, "I've changed my mind. I'm going to keep her. Having the captain's wife as my hostage might come in handy."

Steve and Crystal's eyes got big. They didn't know that Spike knew about Sherry being the captain's wife. That was going to make things difficult for their escape. The Avengers and the police watched to see if Spike was going to let Sherry go but he didn't. So, now it was a standoff between the gang and the Avengers and the police.
