"No one wants to be alone."

"And here resides the famous In-N-Out Burger!" Tia said excitedly. They stood in the midst of downtown, where if there was traffic, it was here. And on a Sunday afternoon, everyone had the sudden urge to go out and do something with their lives - which was not helping the fact that they wanted to stay as hidden as possible.
After a couple of hours of Calum's approval and disapproval with their disguises, Tia had found herself placing her hair into a tight bun; something she never did, and putting on a hideous pair of sweats and an embarrassing t-shirt that read #1 Daughter.
Calum had put on a huge sun hat, saying that since he already looked Asian to most people, now he would seem like a classic tourist. He even had a Hawaiian shirt to complete the look.
Luke was no let down either. He actually put on basketball shorts, and not black skinny jeans with holes in them.
"I've heard about it, but I have no idea what's so special. Isn't it basically another McDonalds?" Luke asked skeptically, referring to the famous restaurant in front of them.
Tia gasped. "Are you kidding me? In-N-Out is practically the Steve Jobs of fast food chains."
"So... McDonalds." Calum said hesitantly.
Tia clapped her hand to her face in exasperation, "You know what? Why don't we go in and I'll show you what's special about here."
"Whatever you say, tour guide." The pair said, grinning foolishly.
The three of them walk into the restaurant and instantly the scent of fries and hamburger patties wafted into their noses, making them inhale with desire. Rowdy cries of the other people lining up for lunch seemed to surprise the two boys.
When they lined up to order after about twenty other people, Calum spoke. "Wow, this place is popular, huh?"
"You think?"

"I feel like I just ate a horse." Calum groaned, rubbing his stomach.
"Same, dude." Luke replied with a groan of his own.
Tia just stood there smirking while sucking on the straw of her heavenly smoothie. "No one said that you had to go line up two more times to get more burgers and fries."
"But it was so damn good!" Luke whined.
The three of them walked out of the populated restaurant, all slightly relieved that no one had recognized them. The summer heat was blistering, but the coolness of Tia's drink managed to regulate her insides. Luke and Calum, however, were already starting to gleam with sweat underneath the California sun.
"I agree, mate." Calum swiped the top of his forehead, "So where are we off to, next?"
"This town is boring as shît, as I said already, so I can't exactly bring you to some amazing cliff with an amazing view because it doesn't exist." Tia said plainly. "But we can go check out one of my favorite little shops?"
The two boys looked at each other, then back at her. "We're up for whatever."
She smiled brightly. "Perfect."

Michael just lied on his bed, staring up at the white ceiling.
He was thinking hard about Lily, music, his family, Ashton's problems, the other boys and honestly everything else that he had been worrying about ever since they went on this "vacation". Acting like a complete dick was something that often rolled off his demeanor, but honestly, he was a pretty nice guy if you got to know him. But once you stepped into the wrong square, things could get messy, and Michael didn't necessarily like it that way.
