Warning: Violence & major character injury!!

When the gang showed up the next morning at Kenny's, the atmosphere was glum. The previous night had been filled with hope and excitement; now that they all had time to think about their reality, everyone was anxious.

Things couldn't go wrong here. It didn't matter if Kenny messed up and got himself killed, and it seemed like the gang finally understood that they were putting their own lives at risk. In any other circumstance, he would've been thrilled by their slow realization. Today though, Kenny sat on the back porch next to Craig, anxiously sucking down his fourth cigarette in ten minutes.

He didn't know how this shit didn't kill him. God, did it fucking help though.

Although he didn't smoke cigarettes, Stan was out there with them, too. He hadn't been able to sit still since learning the truth of what happened to Kyle's dad - he was hungry for revenge. Kenny didn't mind his enthusiasm, in fact, he was just glad Stan wasn't drinking again.

"You nervous or somethin', Ken?" Craig interrupted his thoughts with an underlying teasing tone.

Asshole. Kenny flicked away his fourth cigarette, rolling his eyes at him. "If I wouldn't get shit for it, I'd say yes."

Now interested in the conversation, Stan stopped wacking the ground with a random stick, and turned towards the two on the porch. "I'm not pussy, I'll say it! I'm scared shitless!" He removed his red and blue beanie, raking a hand through his noir hair. "What if something goes wrong? What if-"

"Dude," Kenny stopped him with both hands raised. He didn't need Stan putting more fears in his head. "We gotta stay focused. Worrying is only gonna cause us to fuck up."

Craig discarded his second cigarette butt into the grass, a bored expression settling onto his face. "Yeah, immortal douche here is right. Unfortunately."

Kenny looked around them to see if audacity had suddenly gone on sale. "So, now everyone wants to make jokes about me being immortal?" Craig shrugged, biting back a smirk. "Oh! You dickhole! You're just tryin' to piss me off!"

Before Craig could motivate him anymore the only way he knew how, Leo opened the door to join them. Upon seeing the small blonde come out, Craig got up without a word, and only missed shouldering Leo by a hair as he went back inside. Confused by the attitude, Butters looked back to Kenny. "Uh, you guys good, Ken?"

Although he was confused by Craig's avoidance of Leo too, he shrugged it off, and motioned for his boyfriend to take the free spot. Before they went their separate ways to accomplish something risky, Kenny wanted to spend time with him - just in case.

Stan seemed to understand the look he was receiving from Kenny as he slipped inside too, presumably to find Kyle. Well, Kenny hoped, anyway.

"Leo, my cutie," He held the smaller hands in his, prompting Butters to keep staring at him in wonder. Kenny nearly forgot what he was going to say as he got lost in his captivating blue eyes, as always. "Before we fight back finally, I need you to know how I feel about you. I know we haven't been together long, and it's been fucking chaotic, but..I really, really care about you. I need you to be safe. I just.. need you."

Stunned by Kenny's seriousness, Leo stared at him in awe. "Kenny.." His chest tightened at the realization of what he was trying to say: "Please, come back to me. I-I need you, I need more time with you!"

He could see that Leo stubbornly held back the tears threatening to spill over. His own bottom lip trembled, but he fought back his overwhelming emotions, and pulled his boyfriend to his chest tightly. Kenny felt the anxious beat of his heart, thumping rapidly in panic at their incoming separation. There was too much they both wanted to say.
