The ride to Daegu was nothing but awkward. The silence within the car was crazy. Ari was still mourning (?) her breakup. Jungkook was a nervous reck and Sana was just busy with her phone, probably chatting with her girlfriend.
As of Hyungshik, he was obviously irritated and not only because of Jungkook's presence but also because of the sudden news from Ari. Well, to be honest, even Taehyung himself didn't expect to hear that Ari and Namjoon broke up. He thought the two were doing better. He felt slightly bad for not noticing anything.
These past few days, he was so focused with himself and his own problems that his relationship with Ari had turned one sided. It was usually her, asking how he was doing or what happened with Jungkook, but hardly the other way around. Maybe he should apologize and comfort her.
"Hey, bub, you okay?" Taehyung softly asked against her ears as Ari was just sitting next to him, Jungkook was on his other side while Sana was in the front with Hyungshik.
"It's not the right moment to talk about it" she simply grumbled under her breath.
"Come on, it's never the right moment. Maybe you'll feel better if you talk to someone"
"I don't want to feel better, okay?" this time, she had raised her voice and everyone's eyes were on them in no time.
"Is everything okay in the back?" Hyungshik had asked, glaring at them through the rear view mirror.
"We're fine, Dad" Ari sighed in annoyance. "Please, keep your eyes on the road. We don't want to get killed in a car accident" she paused before adding in a low voice. "Like mom..."
Taehyung definitely grew worried while Hyungshik had flinched for a second before drifting his full attention back on the road.
Something was definitely wrong with Ari and it was not just about the breakup.
Taehyung badly wanted to say something, to ask again if she changed her mind and was ready to talk to him but he decided otherwise.
He let out a breath and smoothly leaned his head on Jungkook's shoulder, the boy instantly caressed him, rubbing his scalp to get ride of the nerves.
"It's going to be okay" Jungkook whispered and that was the only thing Taehyung needed to hear to relax, he closed his eyes and got some sleep for the rest of the ride.
When they arrived in Daegu, their first stop was the flower shop that their mother used to go to especially to buy her favorite flowers, tulips.
None of them never truly understood their mother's obsession with tulips but after her death, they always buy her the flowers because they knew it would make her happy. When they stepped into the shop, Mrs Sun Young who didn't age at all after their last visit, welcomed them with the warmest smile.
"The Kims! I've missed you guys" she hugged all of them one by one. "Welcome back to Daegu" she cheerfully said.
"Thank you, Mrs Sun" Hyungshik politely responded. "We are here for the tulips"
"Oh, I have that" she told as she mentioned for them to follower her, they stopped eventually when they reached their destination. "Multicolored tulips like how she likes them" she handed the bouquet to Sana who immediately smelled them.
Afterwards, they walked to the counter where Hyungshik paid for their purchase.
"I haven't seen this guy before, is he a new friend of yours?" Mrs Son asked Taehyung as she looked over at Jungkook, she noticed how close Jungkook and Taehyung seemed to be, the pair hadn't stopped holding hands since they got in.
