'Where did you come from, baby?
And where you sent to save me?'- Living Proof.

"Hey! How was-" Jungkook couldn't finish his sentence because Taehyung literally threw his whole weight towards him, he almost lost his balance if not for his reflexes. Luckily, he caught the boy on time. "What happened? Are you alright?" He asked with worry when Taehyung had buried his head against the crook of his neck.

Well, Taehyung was always clingy but something felt off and he just knew it.

"My father" Taehyung whispered and Jungkook momentarily stilled against him. "He's such an ass"

It's been a while since Taehyung hadn't talked about/to his father so Jungkook quietly wondered what the older man had done to bother him so much.

"What did he want?" He softly asked, a hand automatically caressing Taehyung's head while the other one wrapped around the boy's waist.

See?

How can Taehyung stay away or even hate Jungkook when the boy was the only good thing that had happened to him?

Jungkook and him might've had an on and off relationship, the boy might not want to be his boyfriend or possibly just playing with him but he didn't really care as long as he felt safe and cared for.

"My mom's death anniversary is next week and he wants us to go to Daegu" Taehyung quietly told. "You know, we used to live in Daegu, her grave is there... We always visit her every year but I didn't expect him to want me there"

"You have all the right to go there, babe" Jungkook whispered against his ears. "She's your mother and not even Hyungshik can change that"

"I know, and I really want to go, I want to buy her flowers and be there for my sisters but..."  Taehyung sighed, he paused for a while then an idea, might it be stupid but still, popped in his head. "Why don't you come with us? I dont know how it'll go with my father and I'm sure I'll need your support"

Dealing with Hyungshik, after everything, might be mentally and physically challenging unless someone (not from the family) comes with them. He's sure his father won't try anything or simply keep his mouth closed once he sees Jungkook. After all, his reputation might be at sake. The new rich kid can't know that Hyungshik, their school's principal, was mistreating his son.

"What? But-" Jungkook slightly gasped. "Would that be okay? With your family?"

"You're my family, Jungkook, you're also my family and I'm sure my sisters won't mind"

Well, maybe Ari would be a bit uncomfortable but he really needed Jungkook.

"And your father?" The boy had asked.

Hyungshik would probably lose his shit but Taehyung wouldn't give a flying fuck about that.

"It's fine. Please, just this once. Plus, I want to introduce you to my mom, I know the timing's not perfect but still"

Taehyung knew that his mother would've loved Jungkook. Even if the boy wasn't perfect and had made him cry so many times, he was still so kind and so caring, his mother would've been glad to know that someone took over her and can take care of her son.

"Alright" After a few reflections, Jungkook finally agreed. He didn't know if he was ready yet to officially meet Taehyung's family, especially his father, but he knew Taehyung must really need him, otherwise, the boy wouldn't have asked him to tag along. "By the way, a nurse is coming tomorrow to take care of Isa. My father said I should go back to school but I'm sure he'll understand once we tell him" he pulled Taehyung against his chest, embracing the latter tightly. "I can't wait to meet your mother. However, I can't say the same about your father. I'm not a big fan of him but I'm going to be polite, as long as he's civil with you"
