"Why are you packing? What's going on, Kook?" Taehyung wouldn't stop pestering him with questions for a few minutes now.
Jungkook didn't really have the time nor the proper words to explain what the emergency was. His own brain was still a mess. All he knew was, after he ended the call, he rushed towards his belongings and hurried to pack as fast as he could. He had to go back to Seoul as soon as possible.
"It's my father..." Jungkook sighed while Taehyung immediately pulled up a deep frown.
"What? Is he okay?" Taehyung worriedly asked.
"He is, physically, well, I hope so" Jungkook hopefully said. "But something happened and he needs me. I'm sorry for leaving like that" he apologetically added.
"Wait, I'm coming with you" Taehyung was about to walk towards his unfold clothes but Jungkook had grabbed his wrists, stopping him in mid track.
"You should stay here with your family. You said you've missed your grandma"
"But I can visit her some other time. I know she'll understand" Taehyung straight away argued.
"Please, Tae, stay with them" Jungkook sounded as if begging. "I need to be with my father and you also need someone to look after you, especially after what happened. Plus, you're exhausted and it's almost midnight, you should get some sleep.
Taehyung's heart dropped from his chest. A part of him knew the guy was right and if he were to come to Seoul, he would be another burden and he knew damn well, Jungkook would be stressed enough with his father's problems.
"I promise I'll make it up to you" Jungkook softly said but when he tried to make eye contact, Taehyung looked away. "Babe" he cupped Taehyung's cheeks in his sweet and warm palms and the latter couldn't help but leaned into the touch. "I'm so sorry but I have to go. I will call you as soon as I can to make sure you're doing okay"
Sighing, Taehyung weakly nodded.
He didn't want to be greedy and selfish. Jungkook had to go. Anyway, they would see each other in a few hours even if Taehyung could already predict it would likely feel like days.
"Alright, call me when you get there. If you need me, I'll be one call away" Taehyung lowly whispered and Jungkook had pressed their lips together.
The kiss was soft, so tender, melted Taehyung's entire body but unfortunately, it was cut short. The other sadly pulled away.
Jungkook only needed a few minutes to finish packing his clothes and getting ready to go.
Eventually, he exchanged a few kisses with his boyfriend before bidding goodbye to the Kim family and thanking them for taking care of him.
Afterward, he stepped out of the house, was about to walk towards his cab when a car stopped right in front of him.
"Get in" Hyungshik told through the car window and even from the dark, Jungkook could recognize the man.
Jungkook stayed paralyzed for a moment... because why the hell would this man offer him a ride? Did he plan to murder Jungkook?
"Just get in before I change my mind!"
That definitely snapped him out of his little daze.
With shaky legs, Jungkook obeyed.
He walked towards the other side and opened the door, looked down at Hyungshik for a split second, mentally convincing himself that it wasn't a dream, then eventually, he hoped into the car, slammed the door shut behind him.
As soon as he did so, Hyungshik started the engine and they began to ride in silence.
The music wasn't even on but Jungkook didn't really mind the silence in the air.
