"𝐈𝐅 𝐈 𝐊𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍, 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐈 𝐃𝐎 𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍?"

"Wow, you can swing a sword with ease but can't tie a silly ribbon?" He spat, scoffing in disbelief.

You rolled your eyes inwardly, as you allowed him to do your hair.

His hands instinctively combed around the loose strands of your hair, putting it all together into a bun with locks which cascaded down your cheeks.

For some reason, you felt your heart skip a beat. Was he always this gentle?

"Oh my lady— your majesty, my earnest greetings." Misa interrupted, as she stood across you with the bangasa in her hands.

"You going somewhere?" He asked, withdrawing himself take a step back.

"Ah, yes. To see the around the village." You responded, with a quick nod.

"What's even there to see?" He asked, ignorance pouring out from his sharp features.

"I will get going." You sighed dismissing his words.

"Wow such delicate hands you have, dear!" An old lady exclaimed in admiration, as she thrusted the bangles into your wrists.

"Look at them, sparkling like ruby!" She commented in awe.

"You flatter me." You chuckled lightly, observing your hands, adorned with glass bangles.

'You look beautiful with those bangles on, Y/N.'

'You don't look too bad yourself.'

'What do you mean I look handsome!'

'Sure, my pretty boy.'

'Hahaha—'

"My lady?" Misa asked cautiously.

"Huh? Oh...I...I will take them. How much for a pair?" You asked, snapping back to reality.

"Oh, sweetheart it would be such a shame to charge someone with something that belongs to them." The old lady said with a hint of ecstacy and satisfaction in her voice.

"Whatever you mean?" You asked being momentarily confused by her words.

"I mean those bangles were meant to be yours, meaning they are a gift from heavens. I dare not take money." She shrugged in reply, as a smile plastered on her face.

"Oh but how could I—"

"My lady, if she insists then you should take it..." Misa suggested.

"I guess I should..."

"Thank you."

"May the heavens bless you."

"My lady, it's getting rather hot, how about we take a shelter near that tree?" Misa suggested pointing to the huge tree which had it's branches pouring out from all of its sides.

You never realised when you, once again, stepped your foot inside this place you wished you never did. Shimurai village.

It was where you first met him, under the shed of a tree.

How is it that, only after everything was done, your heart ached?

A chuckle left your mouth, despite it being way far from happy. The irony of the situation felt surreal.

"My lady what do you think?" Misa questioned.

"...ah yes right. It has been a long day." You replied walking upto the spot she suggested.

The tree provided that same familiar shelter from the scorching heat of the sun. The sweet fragrance which lingered around the air made you go back to those days of your shared youth with Kioto.

The way he would always insist to come in here, only to fall asleep in your lap while you hummed sweet melody to him. Such beautiful days.

But it went wrong...

If only you hadn't left him...maybe...just maybe you two would have been sharing the same solace somewhere under a green shed just like you did years ago?

Would it have been too bad, if you hadn't killed him?

No...

You killed him to prove your loyalty to Sukuna, right? After all Kioto was in the wrong. If You hadn't killed him then Sukuna would have been displeased, you couldn't afford to see him in displease, cause you knew the aftermath better than anybody else.

But were you really afraid of the aftermath or you too were driven by grief and betrayal that you wanted to kill him?

It seemed fine, when you did what you did.

Then why did it bother so much now?

Surely you didn't have feelings for him, then what was this guilt about?

Perhaps you felt alone, if only you had someone by your side to tell you "it's alright"...if only you had someone to tell you "it's not your fault."
You wouldn't be feeling as bad.

Sukuna...

He always said those words to you...whenever you needed to hear them. But now...he just seems so indifferent...so distant..you couldn't come to tell him about it.

He was never like this before...

Or maybe you were never like this before...

Craving for his company...trying to find solace in his presence... It was so unusual for you...if you were to tell the truth it was so out of the character for someone like you.

Loneliness. It can eat a person alive. It makes you want to die...slowly but surely.
