~ heart to heart - mac demarco ~

"are you sure you can't stay here with me?"
jisung asked hyunjin.

"I'm sorry sung, but I had an urgent call from work. you know how hectic it is now. I will be back by midnight. goodbye."
hyunjin said and kissed jisung goodbye, before leaving their apartment.

jisung sighed.
for a few months now, hyunjin was sometimes leaving for work after he came back and didn't return until really late.

it was sometimes pissing jisung off, because he didn't get the attention from his boyfriend that he craved for.

he pouted, before he got up from the couch and went to the kitchen.
he decided to cook something for himself.

he was never a good cook, most of the cooking was done by hyunjin, but he knew how to do some basic stuff.
well, scrambled eggs were gonna be his dinner this time.

....the same as yesterdays....

...and two days ago.....

....and also three days ago....

jisung shook his head, getting rid of the thoughts.
this wasn't the time to get sad.

after all, hyunjin never gave him a reason to doubt him, he always treated him good.

so why was he feeling like something was off?
no, he trusted hyunjin.
hyunjin would never do something like this.
hyunjin would never cheat on him.
yeah, definitely.

hyunjin drank another shot, together with seungmin.

"does your boyfriend know yet?"
he asked hyunjin.

seungmin and hyunjin were in a secret relationship for about three months now.
seungmin knew that hyunjin had a boyfriend, but still being with hyunjin made him feel this
kind of...adrenaline?
he liked the feeling.

Hyunjin scoffed.
"of course he doesn't."

"why are you even staying with him? you have everything you need in me."
seungmin said.

even tho he enjoyed the feeling dating with hyunjin was providing him, he felt sort of confused why hyunjin was still staying with his boyfriend.
wasn't he good enough?

hyunjin smiled and gave seungmin a kiss.
"sweetie, you know, he is so good in bed, and in general is a good company. he cleans and he gives me massages. he's my little bitch that I can do everything I want to, and I don't want you to be in his position."

seungmin smiled.

"I will order us one more round okay?"
hyunjin said, giving a kiss on seungmins forehead.

•~•

jisung had no idea what to do.
he was super bored, and he felt like talking to someone.

he took his phone and called his boyfriend, without any answer.

jisung sighed.
maybe he was busy.

he cleaned the dishes he used cooking his dinner, before throwing himself on the couch.

he had a boyfriend of three years, but he sometimes felt super lonely.
he hated loneliness.

he stared into the space, and didn't even realize how much time had passed, before he heard the front door open.

he turned his head, and his eyes set on his boyfriend, who was quietly walking inside.

"you're back?" jisung said.

hyunjin jumped a little.
he didn't notice the younger one laying on the couch.
"why are you still awake? it's past midnight?"
hyunjin asked.

"really?"
jisungs eyes widened.
he checked the time.
12:03am

"holy shit you're right."
jisung said, getting up from the bed.

"have you eaten?"
hyunjin asked, walking towards their bedroom, jisung following him.

"yeah, I had some scrambled eggs."
jisung said.

hyunjin hummed, and when they reached their bedroom, they walked in, closing the door.

"so, what are your plans for tomorrow?"
hyunjin said, changing into his pajama.

"well, I have to go to work of course. some guys will bring me new books at 6:00am, so I'm getting up early." jisung said, laying on the bed right next to hyunjin.

hyunjin hummed.
"I was thinking I could invite my friends for dinner tomorrow. we didn't hang out for a long time, are you okay with that?"

"what friends?"

"minho and seungmin."
hyunjin said.

"oh, i know minho, but I never heard about seungmin. is he your colleague or something?"
jisung asked.

"yeah."

jisung nodded.
"okay."

to be honest, jisung felt kind of bad.
hyunjin would much rather be spending his free time with his friends, instead of taking his boyfriend somewhere.
jisung couldn't even remember when was the last time hyunjin took him out for a date.

•~•

the next morning, jisung woke up at 4:30am.
he was super tired, because he didn't sleep that much, but he didn't have a choice.

he got up, ate his breakfast, which was some granola bar he found, then brushed his teeth and changed to a normal outfit, before taking his phone, keys and headphones and leaving for the bus.

he didn't have a driver's license, and he liked taking the bus.
when hyunjin had time, he would give him a ride, but he didn't want to wake him up so early.
work gave him a hard time already.

jisung was happily walking towards the bus stop, which was about 5 minutes away from his apartment, while he hummed the melody of the song he was just listening right now.
he felt good.
sleep deprived, but good.

he arrived to the book store at 5:49am, so he still had a little time to check his books, before the new ones will arrive.

at 6:03am, a van stopped in front of jisungs bookstore.
he smiled, before walking outside.

"are you han jisung?"
the guy asked, holding a paper.

"yes, that's me."

"okay, where should we put the boxes?"

"oh, you can just put it on this porch. I will take it inside."
jisung smiled and the guy nodded, before taking about five boxes full of books and putting it on the porch of the bookstore.

"thank you very much."
jisung smiled at the guy and started taking the books inside, as the van drove away.

when all of the boxes were inside, jisung sighed.
this is going to take a long time.

he took a pocket knife he had behind the counter and opened the first box, immediately smiling when he inhaled the scent of the new books.

this is going to be a good day.
