Over the course of the race weekends in Australia, Baku, Monaco, Spain and Austria, Hannah ended up with a bad run of results, compared to Arthur who won the Australian Grand Prix feature race and Monaco Sprint race while Ollie did the double in Baku and won the Spanish Grand Prix Feature race. The break between Baku and Monaco was extended due to the cancellation of the Italian Grand Prix in Imola as a result of intense flooding, just days before the race when she and George had arrived in Italy for the race.
The girls confidence were at an all time low due to constant DNFs or low finishes. She was at home again as it was the weekend of her home race. "Hannah, listen to me," her dad says as he sits on her bed, the girl facing the wall, "it's yours and George's home race. I know you aren't okay mentally but these poor results could be preparing you for something big this weekend." Steve says as he gently rubs her arm. "It just sucks dad." Hannah mutters.
"What does?" Steve questions. "The car. Why does it have to be so bad? Or is it my skill." Hannah turns to him, her eyes glistening. "One thing it's definitely not is your skill or talent. The car just wasn't suited for those tracks." Steve sympathizes with his daughter. "I guess your right." Hannah sighs as she sits up. "Come here, kiddo." the older man says, opening his arms for his youngest.
The girl shuffles in and hugs her father. "I'm proud of you no matter what. And who knows? Imagine if you win this weekend." Steven nudges the girl. "It'd be crazy. Anyway, we better get to the track. I have practice and qualifying in a few hours." Hannah says as she releases from her hug and both her and her dad stand up before she grabs her gear and they head downstairs where Alison is waiting.
"Ready to change your weekend, Han?" Alison smiles as she stands up when the youngest walks in. "Yeah. Lets go as we're meeting George and Carmen there." Hannah smiles. "Oh, Benjy and Cara are joining us too and Millie and Leo aswell." Alison smiles which causes Hannah too. "Amazing. I can't wait for this weekend. Hopefully it goes perfectly." Hannah says with a soft smile.
The three left and made the 2 hour journey to the circuit. Hannah and Alison situated in the back with Steve driving them down. Music played in the car, Hannah's phone connected and her pre-race weekend playlist on. "Listen, meet up with Ollie and Arthur. They can boost your confidence." Alison say, knowing how close her daughter is with the two Ferrari Academy Drivers.
The three spent the 2 hour journey discussing the weekend before arriving at the Silverstone track. "Alright, we're going to go and see your brother. Good luck sweetheart." Alison smiles as she hugs Hannah, placing a light kiss on the young girls cheek. "You'll smash it, Han. Go get them." Steve smiles as he also hugs his daughter. "I will. Give George a hug for me." the young blonde smiles before her parents disappear.
As she walks through the F2 paddock, Hannah meets up with Arthur and Ollie who are talking to Frederik, Théo and Jack. "Thought we'd escape before you got her." the Australian laughs as the girls stands between her two best friends. "Nice try, Doohan. No escaping me." the british girl smiles. "The two home drivers are here. Good to see you Hannah." Théo smiles as he hugs the young girl.
"Thanks Théo. Don't think your winning my home race." she laughs, lightly patting his back. "I might now. It's funny seeing you annoyed." The frenchman grins. "Do that and your losing your balls." the blonde prewarns him. "Yeah. Wouldn't like to be on your bad side." Théo says as Frederik hugs her aswell. "Hopefully the last few results haven't knocked your confidence for this weekend." the danish says with a soft smile.
"Not at all. Plus, I'm praying for a good weekend as my whole family is here." Hannah says as the danish prema driver stands between Théo and Arthur. The six all chat about the weekend coming up before heading to their respective teams garages ahead of free practice and qualifying. "Ready?" Arthur smiles as he barges into her drivers room. "You are lucky I'm in my race gear." she laughs, grabbing her ballyclava and gloves. "I've seen you in just your fire proof bottoms and sports bra, Han." Arthur grins as Hannah throws a cushion at him playfully. "Fuck off Leclerc." she laughs before she follows him out.
