Race day and Hannah was going into it with a lot of confidence. In the sprint, she secured a P2 finished. Frederik Vesti finishing in P1 and Théo Pourchaire finishing just behind her in P3. It was a feeling the girl couldn't shake once the sprint was over that she beat the championship leader but was beaten by a the driver in second in the F2 drivers championship.
Walking into the paddock, Hannah walked in with confidence knowing was she on pole for her home race. After getting photos with the fans who were patiently awaiting her arrival, the girl being established as a fan favorite pretty quickly due to the pure skill she possessed and talent she's shown so quickly. "Hannah, are you going to win?" a little girl, no older than 7 years old, asks looking at the driver is admiration. "Of course I am. Someone very wise told me to never doubt myself at a race like my home race." Hannah smiles as she signs the young girls cap that was handed to her but the little girl's mother.
"She's been wanting to meet you all weekend. She wants to get into racing all thanks to you. You're an inspiration, Hannah." the mum smiles as she takes the cap off Hannah. "Awe, that's amazing. I'm glad I could be an inspiration." Hannah smiles as she feels her heart swell as the woman's words. "You've not only inspired my daughter but so many little girls. Keep going with what you're doing. We know your season hasn't been easy but don't give up. My girl loves watching you race. She always begs me to put the F2 on just so she can watch you." the mum softly smiles as she gently brushes her hand over her daughter's dark brown hair. "That's great to hear. I better get going so I can win this race. You guys stay safe." Hannah smiles. "Is it possible that I can have a hug before you go?" the 7-year-old girl asks. "Of course. Make sure to cheer loudly for me." Hannah laughs as she leans in and hugs the girl before signing a few more things, getting a few more photos and heading to her teams garage.
"Here she is. Today's pole sitter." Yannick Hubert, the team principal smiles, greeting the girl with a warm hug. "I think race winner sounds better but we need to get the key details spot on." Hannah smiles as she returns Yannick's hug. "Race winner does sound better. And we do need to get the key details such as pit stops spot on." Yannick agrees with the girl. "Absolutely." Hannah nods before she excuses herself and heads into the garage.
The girl grabs something to eat before sitting with Arthur. "Ready for today?" the Monegasque asks the girl. "You bet I am." the brit grins as she takes a bite of her sandwich that she grabbed. "Imagine the reaction if you win." Arthur smiles, looking at her. "It'll be insane. Definitely would be a highlight of my season." Hannah smiles before taking a drink of her water. The two talk about their race and the F1 race as they'll be there supporting Charles and George.
Once they enjoyed their breakfast, the two headed to the team meeting and discussed everything necessary as well as the importance of getting the pitstops right considering Hannah and Arthur were starting P1 and P2. "Okay. Lets smash this today and get a double podium." Yannick smiles before dismissing everyone and the two drivers head to their drivers rooms to change into the race gear and doing their pre-race warm ups. "Ready for your home race?" Eliott asks the young girl. "You bet I am." Hannah grins as she grabs her ballyclava and walks out her drivers room and garage to the grid where all the other drivers are.
"Hey, you ready?" Ollie asks as he approaches the blonde. "Hi. You bet I am. Are you ready to lose to me?" she asks with a grin. "As long as i beat Fred." Ollie laughs as does Hannah. "Come on. We better stand at the front tall and proud for our national anthem." the Chelmsford brunette boy says with a small smile. The blonde Kings Lynn girl nods before following him.
The duo take their places infront of their fellow F2 drivers as their home national anthem is played before they all head back to their cars. Hannah takes a moment to collect her thoughts before putting her ballyclava and helmet on, composing herself before stepping into her car. "Alright, Hannah. Cool, calm and collected or not?" Michelle asks over the radio. "Absolutely. Lets make this a weekend to remember." Hannahs respondes with a smile.
