just wanted to jump on here and i'm writing this from my hospital bed. first of all, thank you for the get well soon wishes and all the messages. they truly mean a lot and don't think they've gone unnoticed by me because they have not. your messages are truly lifting my spirit right now in this dark moment and i cannot be more grateful.
the crash was definitely scary but i am lucky that with the advances made on all cars now to have walked away without any serious injuries. i'd also like to say i'm sorry to my team for causing such damage to the car, to my fans who i've let down this weekend with such an accident and most of all my friends and family who were rooting for me but i know they are lucky i'm still here (and i still get to annoy them). it was a minor error that has cost big time. i'm devastated i cannot continue this weekend but i'm fully focused on recovering for Hungary.
finally, i want to say thank you to all my F1 and F2 friends who have come to check on me but most of all to George, Ollie and Arthur who have been by my bedside most of the weekend. My three main people who can be here when my parents can't but they have been calling to talk to me when no-one is available and to remind me that they love me (eventhough i know that and they show it so much to me, george and our older siblings). And a massive well done to George for pushing ahead despite all this and finishing P3 in the F1 race, which I watched from this cage 😂. Also, well done to Ollie and Arthur for finishing P1 and P3, so proud of all three of you ❤️
