The freakout at the hospital spread like wildfire, the aftermath stretching out in twisted fissures of charred concrete, capturing the attention of news outlets across the city. Something Katsuki really didn't need right now. When a source leaked that the cause of the freak accident was none other than the boy who had once faced off against All For One, the media swarmed the hospital entrance like a volt of damn vultures. Because that's what they were, vultures. Picking clean the carcass of a story until there was nothing left.
Cameras flashed incessantly as Katsuki absolutely hated the presence of these vultures, their shouts echoing in his ears as he emerged from his sleek black Nissan R34 Skyline. He tossed his keys to the valet, ignoring the barrage of questions hurled his way.
"Dynamight! Are you here to apprehend Deku, the boy who participated in the war three years ago? Is there a chance he was a villain all along, seeking vengeance?" the fuck kind of question even was that, did he not know who Izuku was?
His fists clenched, but Katsuki took a deep breath, desperately trying to rein in his seething anger. He had to watch his damn words, keep the spotlight off Izuku. The League of Villains would jump at the chance to snatch him up if they got wind of this mess, that if it hadn't already happened.
With grit, Katsuki pressed forward, brushing past the sea of reporters like they were nothing but filth. But their relentless voices continued to assault him, growing more hostile by the second.
"Sources say multiple Pro Heroes were seen entering the building in the past week. If Deku poses such a threat because of One For All, why hasn't he been locked up?" The question stopped him cold as another voice chimed in, "Yeah, the heroes need to throw him in the Abyss before he becomes another All For One! The League would love to mold him into their next villain."
"Lock him away forever!"
"Throw him in the Abyss!"
The words echoed in Katsuki's mind like a nightmare. The Abyss—a prison so notorious, even the toughest son of a bitch would shudder at the thought. Reserved for the worst of the worst—worse than Tartrus, a fate worse than death, a floating hellhole in the middle of the ocean where you held no nationality, ceasing to exist once you were thrown in. And they wanted to toss Izuku in there like he was nothing but damn trash.
"He probably deserves it!" some jackass in the crowd spat out before a fresh wave of accusations and demands bombarded him, their voices growing increasingly hostile with each passing second. It made Katsuki's blood boil, the thought of Izuku locked away in that God-forsaken place, was enough to make his vision blur red. He couldn't fucking stand the way they were running Izuku's name through the gutter. He wouldn't stand for it.
He whirled on the mob, "Who the hell said that?!" He hissed, eyes blazing with fury.
The crowd recoiled, well aware of Katsuki's reputation for smashing film equipment. Yeah, he was well known for his short fuse, but damn if he wasn't the hottest hero in town. Despite his explosive temper, he had them eating out of the palm of his hand, remaining the most sought-after hero for camera appearances in the industry.
Katsuki knew how to play the game, picking and choosing exclusive interviews that'd give his career a boost, knowing damn well his crazed fans would eat it up like candy. His merch? Flew off the shelves faster than hotcakes.
Remember that one time he lost a bet with the Bakusquad and ended up on the cover of Vogue? Yeah, well that unfortunately happened. "Bakugo Katsuki, the Most Explosive Hero Alive," blazed across the headlines, making it the best-selling issue in Vogue history. He hated it, hated all of the attention.
"You clueless pricks don't know jackshit. Just spreading bullshit for the sake of clicks and views. You bastards are nothing more than flies on shit. My Deku's worth more than all your sorry asses combined," Katsuki spat, venomously.
