Ticking Time Bomb
Saying it was hard to stay with Izuku at the hospital was the understatement of the damn century.
The hospital was in chaos—doctors and nurses hustling and bustling to tend to Izuku and Katsuki's injuries. They kept trying to separate them, push him into a different room, but like hell was Katsuki gonna let that happen. No damn way. He clung to Izuku's stretcher like a goddamn lifeline, making it crystal fucking clear that they'd have to pry him off with a damn crowbar if they wanted him to leave.
Separation was not an option.
"No way in hell I'm leaving him," Katsuki growled, fury and resolve sharpening his tone into something fierce, almost lethal. His grip on the stretcher tightened, fingers pressed deep into the fabric as though clinging to his last shred of sanity.
"If that damn nerd wakes up and I'm ain't here, he'll lose his shit and tear this whole goddamn hospital apart."
And that wasn't a fucking guess.
Izuku had already lashed out at people he knew, people he'd trusted—Katsuki had seen it himself, had the bite on his arm to prove when Izuku's instincts took over, when the lines between reality and nightmare blurred and suddenly everything, everyone, was a threat.
And if he woke up now—alone—if the first thing he saw was strangers' hands on him, holding him down, keeping him weak—
They were gonna be peeling hospital staff off the fucking walls.
The medical staff shuffled uneasily, exchanging silent looks that screamed, who the hell wants to be the one to tell Dynamight 'no'? Protocol be damned, they were standing in the eye of a storm with a short fuse, and nobody wanted to be the idiot that lit the match.
That's when the head nurse, a stern veteran with a take-no-nonsense attitude, stepped forward with a firm yet understanding gaze.
"Dynamight, your concern is noted," she asserted, her presence demanding attention despite her calm demeanor. "However, it's crucial both of you get the care needed without risking further complications."
Katsuki's hold on the stretcher tightened further, his knuckles whitening. His glare was pure defiance, an unspoken vow written across his face. Compromise was not in his fucking vocabulary today.
"Then treat us together, dammit!" he shot back, his demand slicing the tense air, leaving no room for argument. "I'm not leaving his side, and you ain't splitting us up. Like I fucking said, if he wakes up and I'm gone, he's gonna demolish this damn place."
Because Izuku wasn't like the other broken victims they patched up here.
The head nurse met his fierce gaze, weighing his intense urgency against the protocols she upheld. She had dealt with many injured heroes before, but the raw desperation in Katsuki's eyes gave her pause, a flicker of doubt in her professional resolve.
"I understand, Dynamight," she replied, her voice tinged with empathy yet firm. "But we have the facilities and expertise here to handle both your needs. And there's also the matter of legality—you're not family."
Oh, this bitch.
Katsuki's eyes blazed as he locked onto the nurse, his emotions teetering on the brink. His voice was a low growl, tinged with both agony and fury. "You don't understand," he spat out, each word heavy with torment and worry. "Deku... he's been through literal hell. Two goddamn months of nonstop torture that tore him apart—body, mind, everything. He's been stripped down to nothing, and he's a cornered animal ready to tear apart anyone who so much as breathes wrong. He needs me here. And I'm not gonna fucking lose him again. No way in hell. I'm staying right here—"
