Karaoke & Alcohol

As they exited the aquarium, the warm glow of the setting sun greeted them, casting a golden hue over the cityscape. Katsuki squinted against the light, feeling the heat on his skin. Eijiro turned to him, a smile playing on his lips. "Hey, before we split, we were headed to dinner," Eijiro announced, voice brimming with excitement. "We're actually meeting a few people from Class 1-A old tonight. I thought it would be a great chance for everyone to catch up, especially since Izuku is out and about again."

Katsuki almost bristled at the suggestion. He'd rather chew glass than have to deal with even more people. Hell, he was already at his limit for today; he just wanted to go home and relax. The thought of more useless chitchatting with their old classmates made his skin crawl.

He glanced over to Izuku, who was a few steps away, completely engrossed in his new whale shark keychain. Izuku was turning it over in his hands, a soft smile on his face. Katsuki's initial instinct was to flat-out refuse. It had been a damn good day, and pushing it further might ruin everything. But then he thought about Izuku's reaction. Knowing him, he would probably beg and pout like the spoiled brat he was if he heard about the dinner and wasn't allowed to go.

Katsuki clenched his jaw, weighing his options. He could just say no and drag Izuku home, but the look on Izuku's face as he played with the keychain made him hesitate. Damn it, he hated seeing Izuku disappointed, maybe being around those extras would be good for him. After all, they were already out and about, and seeing Izuku's happiness was worth stepping out of his comfort zone for a little while.

Katsuki sighed, his shoulders slumping slightly. He was gonna regret this.

"Yeah? Who's all coming?" Katsuki asked, unamused. Eijiro's smile widened, and he clapped Katsuki on the shoulder, listing some names. "Well, there's Uraraka, Iida, Momo, and Sero," Eijiro replied. "And Mina mentioned inviting Todoroki and Kaminari too."

"Fine," Katsuki grumbled. "But don't expect me to be all chatty and shit. And I'm not gonna pretend to enjoy it. If Deku feels overwhelmed or anything, we're bailing." Eijiro only chuckled, knowing Katsuki's reluctance was just part of his nature.

"That's cool with me!" Eijiro beamed before giving a hoot of victory. "I know it's not your thing, but it'll mean a lot to everyone to see you not just you there but him as well."

Katsuki only rolled his eyes before calling Izuku over, who looked up at him with wide, expectant eyes. "Oi, nerd," Katsuki said, trying to keep his tone casual. "We're going to dinner with the rest of the idiots from Class 1-A. You up for it?"

Izuku's face lit up with excitement, exactly as Katsuki had expected, predictable. "Really? Can we? That sounds great, Kacchan! I'd love to catch up with everyone again and see what they've been up to."

Katsuki clicked his tongue in annoyance, retorting, "Why else would I tell you, dumbass? Let's get going before I change my mind."

Izuku laughed, his eyes sparkling in the fading light. Katsuki shook his head, a small smirk playing on his lips. Izuku was practically jumping for joy, his enthusiasm contagious. Seeing him so happy reminded Katsuki of their get-togethers at the dorms back in the day. It reassured him that joining the gathering seemed to be the right decision. It felt like old times, a glimpse of normalcy in their lives that had been missing for so long.

"I'm so excited!"

"Calm down, nerd," he grumbled, flicking Izuku on the forehead. "Don't get carried away. And remember, if you feel overwhelmed or anything, we're leaving. Got it?"
