Gotham meet Spider-Man and Black Cat

Chapter 5

Peter woke up feeling like shit. He also had to go to school even though he was in a crazy amount of pain due to Gotham Academy's dumb rule about scholarship kids not missing school for the first two weeks. He walked into school with Felicia and walked over to his locker. Two kids were making out right next to him and it was a struggle to grab his books with a barely opened locker.

"Yo Peter you good?" He didn't know when Duke got there but he noticed that the couple was gone. "Yeah I'm good. Why wouldn't I be?" Duke looked at him like he was insane. Peter knew he was a terrible liar but how was he supposed to get himself out of this.

His hair was messy and his skin was pale. He was sweating and his head was pounding, he felt so sick. The inside of his stomach needed food but he also felt the need to vomit just from the thought of eating anything. "Pete, you look like shit. Are you sure you should be in school right now?"

Peter looked at him and then looked down. He had no way to explain his problem to anyone. Peter's problem was based on the fact that he was an enhanced human. And as far as he knew, Batman had a hatred for metas. Someone should really get on him about that. It's 2024, be a little more accepting of people.

Duke didn't push him any further. But he definitely talked to Felicia about it because he could feel her staring at him like a hawk in math. He turned to his right and looked at her. The two seats they were given were in the back of the classroom so as long as he whispered slowly, no one would hear.

"Felicia why are you staring at me like that." Peter seriously had no idea what was going on. He didn't need anyone to feel bad for him or pity him. He doesn't want it, he doesn't need it, and he doesn't deserve it. "Peter, I'm trying to look out for you. You slept during English, which is your worst subject, and have almost dozed off in every single class. If it wasn't for the fact that missing a day will have us kicked out of the school, I would be home with you right now and not in this classroom trying to relearn shit I already know." Felicia whispered back to him in a harsh but soft tone.

It reminded him of Aunt May. He hated how it made him feel so good. Everything that reminded him about Aunt May was good. Until he thought about her corpse and how he will never see her again. Felicia put a hand on his shoulder. "Stop overthinking Peter. I know what you're doing and I hate it. You get lost in that world of yours and all it does is make you feel like shit." Peter just nodded his head and heard the teacher shout their names. "Peter, Felicia, do you have something you want to share with the class?"

Peter went to respond before he was tugged into a kiss by Felicia. He heard Steph let out a wolf whistle and some of the boys looked annoyed. Fucking weirdos. She's 14 and some of them are 17. Some people have serious issues. Mrs. Jackson thankfully didn't say anything after that. She was actually a nice teacher. People just hated her because they hated math and always blamed the teacher.

Peter was the first one in the cafeteria and stacked his plate with food. He devoured just about everything they had and also ate some of Steph's and Tim's food. They were looking at him intently. Most people wouldn't have recognized how interested they were in his eating habits, but Felicia did.

It reminded her of the librarian. Barbara Gordon. She looked into her and noticed she was the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon. From what she could see, the Commissioner was a single dad and was the only one who looked after Barbara. But with the hours he worked, she could tell Barbara basically raised herself. She had a degree in Library Science of all things and was paralyzed at the age of 19. That was five years ago.

Felicia didn't trust her and was already losing trust in the Wayne's. She let Peter eat but they were definitely going to talk about this when they got home. Peter finished his food and watched as Tim made a mental note in his brain. You could see the cogs turning like with Peter when he was doing something with science.
