Chapter 2: Joining the Ravens
As the children's arrived at Hogwarts, the door swung open revealing an older woman with black hair and wearing a green robe. "The firs' years, Professor McGonagall." Hagrid said.

[Name] was feeling nervous, as Professor McGonagall led them to the entrance hall. The place was huge and overwhelming, [Name] stood next to Hermione, as she can hear voices up ahead. Professor McGonagall showed the children's into a small, empty chamber down the hall and begin to explain to them about the Sorting ceremony on which house they will be staying. [Name] hoped that she be staying close to Hermione as she was the only friend that she made.

Suddenly a large green toad appeared in front of Professor McGongall which Neville ran forward to grab his pet toad. "Trevor!" He yelled, before looking up at Professor McGongall feeling embarrassed. "Sorry." He muttered, heading back to the group.

[Name] felt bad for him, wonder if she should comfort him but before she can do that Professor McGongall continue her speech. "The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily. I suggest you all smarten yourselves up as much as you can while you are waiting." She said, glancing at a few students straightening themselves up. "I shall return when we are ready for you, please wait quietly." She left the room, letting the students collect themselves.

[Name] walked over to Neville, tapping him on his shoulder as she can't use her notebook since she had pack it up in her bag. "F-Frog...pet." She muttered, looking down

"Oh! Of course, I'll make sure to not let Trevor jump off." He said, holding his pet tight enough to not let him loose.

[Name] smiled, petting the frog feeling  how smooth it was, after a few minutes of petting she stopped and felt happy.

Suddenly, she felt a cool breeze against her as she glance to see ghosts roaming the hall, letting out a gasp and hid behind Neville who was trembling in fear. Most of the ghosts were basically talking to each other, not even taking a look at the first years. After a couple of minutes passed by, Prof. McGongall came back as the other ghosts went back into the wall, "now, form a line and follow me."

[Name] followed behind her with the other first years, heading out of the chamber and down the hall that lead to a pair of double doors into the Great Hall. She looked memorized at how lovely the place is, floating candles hovering over the four large table, while on the table laid plates that are glittering gold along with goblets. At the front is also a large table where there were chairs filled with teachers waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Prof. McGongall lead them to the other first years with another teacher, as some of the old students were staring at them causing [Name] to be nervous. As McGongall placed a stool in front of them as it was now time for the sorting to commences.

The hat stared at them for a minutes before opening its mouth to sing, which sounded lovely but confusing on what the hat meant to [Name]. The room was filled with applause as the hat finished its song, "So, we've just got to try on the hat!" Ron whispered, mentioning how his brother was talking about wrestling trolls which [Name] was thankful that it was just a joke as she would've fainted at the sight of it.

[Name] was getting nervous, hearing names being called and announced by the hat, her stomach started to feel funny and really doesn't want all eyes on her. As she hear her name being called, walking toward the hat and sat down on the stool.

"Ah, [Name] Komi, a mind as sharp as a Ravenclaw's wit, yet a heart yearning for connection. Your path may be strewn with challenges of communication, but within you reside strength born of introspection and determination. Ravenclaw!" Loud cheers were coming from the ravenclaws as she got up from the stool and quickly went to her seat with the other ravenclaws, face being slightly red from all the stares she was receiving.

After the rest of the first years finally got to their houses by the hat, Dumbledore got up from his seat with a smile on his face, enjoying having new students at Hogwarts. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin out banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you!" Sitting back down, while everyone begin to feast into the food laid out in front of them, [Name] admired how delicious it looks and went to take the first bite.

Feeling a tap on her shoulder, she glance to see a blonde hair girl sitting beside her. "Since we're going to be in the same year together, let's get to know each other." She said, while [Name] was confused by this sudden interaction. "I'm Amanda Brocklehurst." She replied, waiting for [Name] to introduce herself

[Name] really did try to introduce herself to Amanda but she ended up stuttering and overthinking of messing up. Amanda gave her a weird look and went back to eating, thinking it was weird of her to not say anything. [Name] look down sadly and eat her food, glancing across the table to see Hermione talking with the others at her table and wished to join them.

"It's kinda unfair that Gryffindors get Harry Potter." One of the Ravenclaw students said, grumbling

A couple of them agree, while [Name] was quite confused on why Harry was this famous for. After everyone had ate their food, Headmaster Dumbledore stood up to make an announcement, telling all old and new students to not venture into the forests. "I have also been asked by Mr. Flich, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors. Quidditch trials will be held the second week of the term, if anyone is interested in playing for their house then contact Madam Hooch. Finally, I must tell you that this year the third-floor corridor on the right hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful death." He explained

[Name] wonder if she should try out for Quidditch but shook her head since she wouldn't understand the rules too well. As it was getting late, Dumbledore sent everyone off telling them that their prefects will lead them to their dorms.

"Alright everyone, it time to head to bed so follow me to the Ravenclaw Dorm." A young girl named Penelope said

[Name] and the others got up from the table, following Penelope to their dorm, the way to their common room was on the west side of Hogwarts. They arrived in front of their door and Penelope stood in front of them, "Now to enter the common room, you will need to solve this riddle to enter. Now the riddle chance everyday so nobody doesn't sneak in."

Penelope answer the riddle that appears on the door, as it unlocks revealing the common room. [Name] looked around the room in awe, it was quite spacious and there was a harp on the table. Penelope directed them into their dorms that was separate by genders, as [Name] walked over to her trunks to change into her pajamas.

[Name] pulled out her notebook and wrote something down, as she walked over to Amanda who was in the middle of changing. 'I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself to you, I have trouble with speaking and I get too nervous to answer or I overthink them. Is it alright if we can start over.'

"It's fine, I still think it weird that you have trouble speaking but I'm glad that you told me. You already know my name, so what's yours?" Amanda asked

[Name] wrote her name down and show it to them

"Oh, it's pleasure to meet you [Name]. I think we going to be great friends." Amanda said, until their prefect told them lights out.

[Name] smile and went to bed, as she was glad to make another friend by herself.
