Author PovThe next day, Ranvijay joined everyone at the breakfast table. Mahima exchanged a meaningful glance with Shiv, silently urging him to speak. He nodded in agreement.
"So, Ranvijay, have you thought about it?" Shiv asked, and Mahima and the rest silently began chanting prayers in their minds.
"About what, Dadu sa?" Ranvijay asked.
"The marriage proposal," Shiv clarified.
"I'm ready," Ranvijay replied simply, then stood up and left for his office, leaving the Rathore family utterly astonished.
"Anika, pinch me! Did I hear right? Bhai sa actually agreed to the marriage, oh my God!" Ansh said, still in shock.
Anika rolled her eyes. "Forget him, Badi Ma, tell us when we are going to meet Bhabhi? I can't wait!"
Mahima smiled and said, "Rudra-ji and I are going to talk to Aniket today. Once we know Anvi is also ready we'll plan everything."
-------
Later that day...
Aniket was engrossed in work in his cabin when he heard a knock at the door. "Come in," he said. As the door opened, he saw Mahima and Rudra standing there.
"Hukum sa, Hukum Rani sa! Why are you standing? Please, come in and sit," Aniket said, immediately standing up to greet them.
"Are you free, Aniket? We need to discuss something important," Mahima asked, as they sat down.
"Of course. Please, go ahead," Aniket said, already sensing where this conversation was heading.
Rudra began, "Aniket, you know that Veer, Roohi, and we agreed on Ranvijay and Anvi's alliance back when they were just children."
Aniket nodded. "Yes, Hukum. I'm aware."
"Well, the time has come to fulfill that promise. We're ready to pass the throne to Ranvijay, but according to tradition, he must be married first. And they are both of the right age," Rudra explained.
Aniket's face fell at the thought of his sister getting married, and Mahima noticed his expression.
"Aniket, I know this is hard for you. You've raised Anvi since she was a child, and the idea of her getting married so suddenly is overwhelming. But I promise you, I'll love Anvi as my own daughter. I've always wanted a daughter but i couldn't have it but now i will fulfill my wish by having Anvi, and Anvi will be cherished in the Rathore family i assure you" Mahima assured him warmly.
Aniket nodded, grateful for her reassurance. "Alright, I'll talk to Anvi. But this marriage will only happen if she agrees."
Mahima and Rudra nodded, smiling with relief.
-------
That night...
Aniket reached home late and was immediately concerned when he saw the house was empty. He called Anvi's phone, but she didn't answer. It was past 11 p.m., and a heavy rainstorm was pouring outside. Just as he was dialing again, the doorbell rang.
The servant opened the door, and there stood Anvi, completely drenched. She looked at her brother and knew she was in trouble.
"Miss Anvi Shekhawat! How many times have I told you not to get drenched in the rain? And why didn't you answer your phone? You know how I worry when you don't pick up!" he scolded, his voice echoing in the mansion.
"Calm down, Bhaiyu! I'm fine. I was with Nishi, and my phone was on silent," Anvi replied, flashing her puppy-dog eyes, knowing it would work.
"Don't you dare try that face on me! Now go change your clothes before you catch a cold," he grumbled, but his anger softened as she went upstairs, obediently.
After changing, Anvi returned and noticed her brother lost in thought. She quietly sat beside him, resting her head on his shoulder.
"What's on your mind, Bhai?" she asked.
He looked at her, placing an arm around her shoulder. "How did you know?"
"Don't forget, I'm a lawyer. And, more importantly, your sister. Now spill," she said with a soft smile.
"Anvi, you know that Hukum sa and Hukum Rani sa were our parents' best friends," he began, surprising her.
"You mean the King and Queen of Rajasthan?" she asked, wide-eyed. He nodded.
"Yes. Mom and Hukum Rani sa shared a dream that you and Ranvijay would be married someday. When you were born, they decided your alliance with Ranvijay the same Ranvijay you met yesterday, who happens to be my best friend. Mom was so happy about it, but... she and Dad didn't live to see this moment."
Anvi was speechless, processing the new information, and gestured for him to continue.
"Today, Hukum sa and Hukum Rani sa came to the office. They want to proceed with the wedding now since Ranvijay is set to become king, but he has to be married first."
"What did you say to them?" she asked quietly.
"I told them that this wedding will only happen if you agree," he replied.
Anvi took a deep breath. "What do you think about this, Bhai?"
"Ranvijay is an incredible man, Anvi. People call him ruthless in business, and I won't deny it. But
when it comes to family, he's one of the most loyal, loving people I know. If anyone deserves you, it's him," he said sincerely, and Anvi nodded, absorbing his words."I'm not pressuring you. This choice is entirely yours," he assured her.
"Bhai, if you think this is right... then I trust your judgment," she said softly.
"So... should I let them know?" he asked, hoping for her answer.
"Yes. But I want to talk to him first," she replied.
"Fair enough. They'll come by tomorrow. You can speak with him then," he said with a gentle smile.
And with that, they both smiled, feeling a sense of calm about the decision.
