POV AUTHOR

Today, the Rathores were en route to Shekhawat Mansion to finalize the wedding arrangements. Despite his reluctance, Ranvijay had been cornered into coming by his dadu's unyielding insistence.

In her room, Anvi fidgeted with her bangles, feeling as anxious as she had during her law exams. Since learning of the proposal yesterday, her mind had been swirling with thoughts and questions. Dressed in a red anarkali with a matching dupatta bordered in gold, her hair flowing freely and a pair of delicate jhumkas completing her look, she had kept her makeup minimal-just a touch of gloss on her lips. Yet, the simplicity only enhanced her beauty.

                (Anvi dress reference)

By two in the afternoon, a line of luxury cars swept into the Shekhawat Mansion. Aniket, informed of the Rathores' arrival, went to welcome them. "Namaste, please come inside," he said warmly, leading the distinguished guests into the grand mansion.

As conversations began, Ranvijay's eyes roamed the room, hoping for a glimpse of Anvi. His siblings, unable to contain their impatience, asked, "Where's bhabhi ma?" drawing laughter from everyone.

"I'll bring her," Aniket said, smiling as he walked toward her room.

Upstairs, Anvi paced nervously until she heard a knock. Opening the door, she found her brother. "Anvi, they're here. It's time," he said, noting her visible nerves.

Aniket placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Anvi, I know you're nervous, but trust me, Ranvijay and his family are good people. They'll take care of you. Just breathe, okay?"

She nodded, taking a deep breath before following him downstairs.

A hush fell over the room as the sound of her payal reached everyone's ears. All eyes turned to the staircase, mesmerized by Anvi's quiet elegance. Ranvijay couldn't look away, entirely captivated by her simplicity and grace.

With a shy smile, Anvi approached Shiv and Meera, respectfully bending to touch their feet. "Namaste, Hukum sa and Hukum Rani sa," she greeted.

Meera immediately pulled her into a gentle embrace, kissing her forehead. "Don't call me 'Hukum Rani sa,' dear. Call me Dadi, like Ranvijay does."

Anvi smiled, nodding in agreement.

Next, she moved toward Mahima and Rudra. But before she could bend down, Mahima swept her into a warm hug. "In our family, daughters don't touch our feet," she insisted, squeezing Anvi's hands.

"Ji, Hukum Rani sa," Anvi replied with a smile.

Mahima feigned offense, dramatically wiping at imaginary tears. "Oh, this is unfair! You're calling Maa sa 'Dadi' and me 'Hukum Rani sa'? Call me Maa, please."

"Maa..." Anvi whispered, her voice catching with emotion. It had been so long since she'd addressed anyone that way, and her eyes misted over.

Rudra, seeing her tear up, gently wiped her cheek. "No tears, Anvi. Smiles suit you much better."

Mahima chuckled, brushing Anvi's hair back. "You're the spitting image of Ruhi, just as beautiful."

Blushing, Anvi moved to greet Shreya and Daksh. Shreya immediately cut in with mock severity, "If you dare call me Choti Rani sa, we're going to have a problem."

Laughing, Anvi hugged her. "Namaste, Chachi sa."

Just then, Ranvijay's younger sister, Anika, jumped in with excitement. "Hello, future bhabhi sa! I'm Anika Rathore, your soon-to-be nanad!" she announced, making Anvi blush.

"Oho, bhabhi sa, don't start blushing already! Save some of that blush for bhai sa," Anika whispered mischievously, leaving Anvi speechless.

"Okay, let me have a turn," another voice said, and Ansh Singh Rathore, Ranvijay's younger brother, hugged Anvi with the exuberance of a little brother. "Hello, future bhabhi sa! I'm Ansh, your soon-to-be devar."

"Easy, Ansh! She can barely breathe," Abhishek laughed, gently pulling Ansh back. He turned to Anvi with a smile. "Hello, bhabhi sa. I'm Abhishek Singh Rathore, also your soon-to-be devar," he said, offering her a handshake, which she accepted.

Through all this, Ranvijay was waiting impatiently for just one look, one acknowledgment from Anvi. Yet she didn't so much as glance in his direction, leaving him feeling forgotten.

"She's got some nerve," he muttered under his breath. "It's as if she's here to marry my family and not me."

Everyone soon settled into comfortable conversation. Anvi, however, felt a certain gaze on her, and she knew exactly who it belonged to. She avoided meeting his eyes, nervous he'd see right through her.

Mahima, noticing her son's impatience, spoke up. "Perhaps Anvi and Ranvijay should spend a little time alone?"

Anvi's nerves spiked, but Ranvijay's smirk made it clear he was more than ready for this.

"Yes, Anvi, show Ranvijay to your room," Aniket added, giving her an encouraging nod. With a reluctant nod, Anvi led Ranvijay upstairs. He trailed behind her, secretly delighted that she was avoiding his gaze.

----------

Inside her room. Ranvijay's eves roamed the space, taking in every detail. A book on her side table caught his attention-a dark romance novel. He chuckled to himself and glanced over at her, his smirk deepening when he saw her fidgeting with her fingers.

He took a step closer, and Anvi instinctively backed up. "What... what are you doing?" she stammered, only to find herself gently pinned against the wall.

He leaned close, his lips brushing against her ear. Anvi's heart raced, and she gripped her dupatta tightly as her stomach fluttered.

"So, the future queen of Rajasthan has a taste for dark romance, hmm?"" he teased in a hushed tone. "Don't worry. I'll fulfill all your fantasies... my queen."

Her eyes widened, realizing he'd seen the book, and she silently berated herself for not hiding it.

"Stop cursing yourself, Anvi," he murmured. Hearing him say her name felt oddly reassuring.

They eventually moved to sit on the balcony, both lost in thought. Anvi wanted to ask something but hesitated.

"Anvi, just ask what you want to don't hesitate" he said, sensing her unspoken question.

Surprised, she look up directly into his eyes

"Anvi you are like an open book to me now tell me what you want to ask" he said encouraging her

"What if... what if our marriage doesn't work out?"she finally asked, revealing the worry that had weighed on her since the proposal.

Ranvijay took her hand gently. "What if we make it work, Anvi? No relationship is perfect, but we'll build it together," he said, his tone reassuring.

In that moment, Anvi felt her fears begin to fade, comforted by the steady warmth in his voice.
