I've been sitting in the car for hours staring at the building in front of me. This damn heat is killing me. I'm not used to the heat as we have much colder weather in Alaska.
Bane, my father's vice president, sat next to me and breathed heavily. The old man, like me, was used to a different environment, but the circumstances forced us to do so. He adjusted his cut and stared at the women who walked past.
"If it weren't so warm here you could get used to it," he said as one of the women gave him a seductive look.
I rolled my eyes...bikers! I knew what they were like since I grew up in a MC. My father is the President of the Mc Coyotes in Alaska. He once lived in California as a young man but through love he found his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He joined my grandfather's Motorcycle Club out of love for my mom. I had to listen to him so many times as he told us what he had been through to prove himself and had now achieved his well-deserved place as President. Grandfather had no son, only my mother, and this seemed to be a family curse because father also only had daughters.
Our oldest sister was already married to one of the club members and only Lilly and I were still with dad. Mother died of cancer a few years ago and he has changed a lot. His concern for us was great but I was my father's daughter and I never wanted to live any other life than this.
I was a rider princess, the President's daughter, and I had my status in the MC.Since childhood, I was different from Lily, who was my fraternal twin. While she was into girly things, I was more the one who got into fights at school, especially with much stronger boys.
But I never lost.
I would never have left home if Aunt Jane hadn't been kidnapped. My father's sister was his last family, and that hit him and her husband, father's officer, hard.
She was kidnapped on her way home from work. The MC did the hardest work and through the surveillance cameras, they were at least able to find out who it was. Well, at least the man who kidnapped her was identified when Aunt Jane ripped the mask off his face.I was in California with Bane, following a lead. My job was to find the guy and identify him with Bane. Dad would do the rest with his group. All we had to do was wait, and we did.
We had been waiting for a long time in front of the building where he apparently lived, but so far we had no success. I cut an apple with my knife and ate as I watched the building, and Bane seemed annoyed by the sound. He breathed heavily and looked to the side only to grab my arm and get my attention.
I followed his gaze and saw the man we were waiting for go into the building, and a short time later he walked out again with a black bag, which he threw into his car and stormed off. "Dad...we got him. I'm following him to see where he's going, maybe he'll take us to Jane," I said into the phone and hung up.
Bane gave me a critical look as I hung up, but I knew that father and he would advise me not to do it. I respected their biker rules, which I knew by heart:
1. Family first.
2. Respect and no nonsense.
3. Honor the bike.
4. Never give up.
5. No rider is left behind.
6. Stay true to yourself.
7. Stick to your guns.
8. Always full equipment.
9. Ride with pride.
10. Wear the vest 24/7. But I had my own rule: trust your inner voice.
And it told me to follow the man.He drove south on Route 5 from Irvine like a madman and after a while got off the highway. He drove significantly faster than allowed and than me. When I came to an intersection, I didn't know whether he was turning left or right. It was already evening, and I couldn't see anything clearly, but directly on the left of me, I saw a car driving in the distance, with nothing visible to the right. I decided to follow the car and accelerated to catch up with him.
I drove as fast as I could, and Bane held onto his seat uncomfortably. I know it's terrible for him not to be the driver and especially to be in a car that he called a cage. The dust swirled around us as I drove down the road, and I could soon see the car closer.
I really thought I drove recklessly sometimes, but the truck driver who was coming our way seemed to lose control of his truck and came onto our side of the road.
The car, the one I was following, avoided the impact with the truck at the last second and turned sharply right off the road. The driver of the truck just kept driving while the car lost control and spun on its axis. When the car came to a stop, it hung half off a cliff, and I pulled my handbrake and turned my car in his direction. If the bastard dies, then we'll have nothing left so I accelerated to save him. We could beat the information out of him, but he's no good dead. When my headlights illuminated the car I was standing in front of, I saw that it wasn't the man I had been following for hours. I must have taken the wrong turn.
"Damn!" I shouted as I got out of the car.
Bane got out and ran to the car and ripped open the passenger door to pull out a man whose head was bleeding, and when I called for him, he screamed, "No biker will be left behind!"
I looked confused from him to the man and saw his cut and realized what he meant."Alice!" the man shouted, trying to get up but failing.
I turned to the car and saw a young woman unconscious behind the steering wheel. The car seemed to slip, and I grabbed the rope on the hood of the pickup truck I was driving and attached it to hers. The car seemed to slip even further, and I ran to my driver's side and put the car in the rear gear to prevent the car from falling.
Bane jumped up and ran to the driver's side to get the woman out, and at the last second, they fell safely to the ground when the rope broke, and their car fell into the depths. The man held his bleeding head and tried to get to the woman, falling again and again. I jumped out of the car and ran to Bane, who was trying to wake the woman.
"We're almost home. We have to go to Doc!" the man shouted as he reached Bane and the unconscious woman, whereupon Bane just nodded and picked her up and brought her into our car.
I helped the man up and helped him get to the car where he held the young woman in his arms. I drove off like a madman following the instructions of the man who was now sounding desperate. "Alice open your eyes...Alice please sister open your eyes," he shouted again and again.
Okay, Alice is his sister, and according to the cut, he is the vice president of an MC.
I don't know if these guys wouldn't attack us if we got there and something happened to the two of them in the meantime. But I had no choice. We soon drove into a small town away from everything, and as he gave me further instructions, I saw a gate in front of me. It wasn't an MC Club, it was Alcatraz.
From afar, I saw men standing at the gate armed and looking in our direction.
"No time...no time, just drive through! She's bleeding!" the man shouted.
Bane looked at me, and I looked back. Damn!
I stepped on the accelerator and honked furiously while the man opened the window and yelled something in their direction. The men at the gate seemed to recognize him and stepped aside as I rammed the gate, and it burst open.
We drove into a street, and men with guns ran out of the houses. Damn!
"Stop here!" The man sitting behind me shouted, and I pulled the handbrake and turned the steering wheel to bring the car to a stop. The man behind us got out of the car, and we followed him, holding our hands up to show that we were not a threat. If it were my father's MC, he would have shot first and then asked questions. So I just hoped that this MC wouldn't send us straight to the ground.
I heard screaming and shouting and looked at Bane, who had a shotgun shoved in his face by a man who was looking at him seriously.
I felt a hand grab my shoulder and turned around. In front of me stood a man who was a head taller than me and clearly more muscular. His black hair was tied in a man bun, and his dark eyes stared angrily at me.
"...stupid bitch." was all I heard.
Did he just call me a stupid bitch? The adrenaline in me was still at maximum, and I pulled my fist together and punched him in the face as hard as I could. He stumbled back a few steps and fell to the ground. That was a stupid idea. Soon I had several weapons pointed at me and was already saying goodbye to the world."Guns down now!! She saved Alice!" I heard the man we saved screaming.
As if by magic, the weapons disappeared from my face, and I stared at the man standing up from the ground. He looked at me angrily. Damn.
When my eyes fell on his cut and I read President...double damn.
We just stared at each other while the people around us helped the injured two. One of them ran over with a medical kit. That must be Doc, I thought to myself.
The men made room for him, and their heads turned to me and Bane. I took a cigarette from Bane and lit it, and then I saw the bar sign behind them.
"I need a damn drink," I said and walked past the giant I sent to the ground a few seconds ago. His gaze followed me, and I felt his eyes on me as I walked past him, and the crowd parted to make way for me to the bar.
