Ivy

Watching him drive away was so damn hard.
“You just have to get used to it,” said Alice, who was standing next to me.
I looked at her and she smiled at me. Her husband just went along with it; she had so much more to lose than me, and still she smiled.
“Our life is like that. Danger is part of it. But with time, you get used to it... Believe me,” she said, putting her hand on my back. I just nodded and watched as the lights of the smaller and smaller cars finally disappeared.
"Drew and I are home alone...what do you think about staying over for girls' nights ?" she asked me encouragingly.
“Sure...thanks, Alice,” I said to her.
We went into her house, and she put her things by the door as she invited me inside.
"You can sleep in the guest room, the first room when you go up the stairs," she said as she sat down at the kitchen table.
"I don't think I can sleep now," I said to her, and she pointed to an empty chair.
“Nothing will happen to them. This isn't the first time, Ivy. The boys already know what they're doing. Don’t worry,” she said to me, and I smiled at her.
I didn't feel like laughing; I was worried, not just for Aunt Jane, but for Aidan too.
"I've decided to stay here," I said to Alice, who looked at me. "I want to work with you at the Safe House." I added. She smiled at me and placed her hand on mine.
"I know...Mom told me," Alice said, smiling. “And I’m damn happy about it. You'll fit in well and I have someone to support me with this group of men," she said with a laugh.
"Aidan gave me his house...he said I could live in it." I said to her.
Her eyes widened, and she beamed as she listened to me.
"Oh girl, this is practically a marriage proposal,” she said, laughing.
“No, we just got together, the relationship is new. Maybe he’ll get tired of me soon,” I answered her.
She laughed and looked at me, confused. “Ivy…I know Aidan. He never introduced any woman in the club as his girl. Or talked to mom and dad about her... and the house. The house has been empty for years; he told mom he won't use it until He finds a wife for himself," she said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"He talked to your parents about me?" I asked.
"Yeah...he told them he was in love with you, and mom and dad thought you were great, so they encouraged him to tell you," Alice replied. “He told you about the Safe House, Ivy…none of these bitches that come here every now and then know about it. They’re just there to unload balls and send them away. Stupid men..I’m telling you,” she added, laughing.
"He told Candy not to come anymore!" she told me and smiled. "He's in love with you girl," I heard her say, smiling.
I couldn't hide the grin on his face. I was happy that he felt the same way as me. "Yeah look at you...lovesick like him," Alice remarked, and we both laughed.
"But you know that Storm has to mark you later?" she asked me.
"What?" I asked her.
Alice stood up and turned her back to me as she lifted up her shirt. I was confused for a moment until I saw the tattoo on her back. The club's logo adorned her back, and "Wrath's Girl" was written underneath.
"Oh," I said in surprise.
"He also has one in the same place. To this day he thinks it says Alice's Man on it," she said, laughing.
"It doesn't say?" I asked.
"Alice's bitch is standing on his." She said, laughing, and I burst out laughing with her.
"How did you meet?" I asked her.
"Oh, we grew up together. Wade's parents were club members. His dad was Dad's road captain. I've always had a crush on him. Look at him, he's fucking...uff it wasn't until we were in high school that he made his move and since then..." she said dreamily.
"You're in love like the first day, I can see," I said, laughing, and she grinned.
"I just fucking love him," she confirmed.

We were awake until early morning, and when I went to sleep I tossed and turned in bed for a long time before falling asleep. I thought about Aidan and our night together and then about the action they had ahead of them. I just hope everything goes well. The next day didn't go quickly at all, and even though I got some sleep, I was still very nervous. Alice took me with her when she took Drew to school. The girl was very excited that I would be spending time with them later and was already making plans.
"We're going to have a movie night with popcorn and candy, and read stories and paint," Drew said to me happily.
"I'm looking forward to it," I said to her as she got out of the car.
"How old is Drew?" I asked Alice as she drove off.
"Seven...I got pregnant at 22. That's what happens when you marry a hot biker who can't get off of you," she said, laughing and I immediately thought of Aidan and our night.
I smiled to myself and looked out the window.
"Ohhh I can see you're doing the nasty," she said laughing, which made me laugh too.
After she drove Drew to school, which was about half an hour from her house she she did not drive back.
"I have to go shopping, girl. And I'm sure it will be good for you too," she said with a wink as she drove from school towards the beach.
After a while, she stopped, and I looked through the window; it was damn hot, and the sun was making the ocean glitter as it shone on it.
"Aidan told me about Laguna Beach...he wanted to bring me here," I said to Alice as we got out. "Well, I brought you here first," she said, laughing, and we went to the beach.
We sat down on the sand and looked at the open ocean.
"I love it here," Alice said as she picked up her phone and typed something.
I watched people bathing and having fun...I could get used to that.
"They've arrived and they're doing well, says Void. So come, baby, we're going shopping," said Alice with a smile.
And we did that too. She dragged me into stores and let me try things on. We had fun and also bought clothes that were really pretty.
"We just have to buy one more thing," she said, pointing to a store. The sign said Romantic Boutique, and I raised my eyebrows.
"You have to give your boy candy when he gets home," Alice said with a laugh as she entered the lingerie store.
My eyes widened as I marveled at the shop. They had everything possible to sell from sexy lingerie to wigs, even high heels and fishnet stockings. I just looked at everything with wide eyes. "I don't even know what he likes," I said to Alice who laughed.
"Just find something that makes you feel sexy. He likes you so he'll like anything!" She said, smiling, as she grabbed a few things from the rack.
I picked out a few sexy things and paid quickly. Alice had bought two bags, and I didn't even dare to ask what.
After we ate, we picked up Drew and drove her home. We drove to Evelyn and John's and spent some time with them while Alice checked her phone every few hours. Afterwards, I brought my shopping to Aidan's house, and we went to Void and Erin's. The two of them had a son who was the spitting image of Void. The boy loved technology just like his parents, and I listened to him talk to his mother about something I barely understood.
"Come on, Ivy, let's go to Void," said Alice and pointed to the back door.
When we entered the room, I first thought I was in a spaceship. Screens and keyboards everywhere, buttons in different colors, and Void was sitting in front of the largest screen typing with headphones on.
" Hey Void, how are our boys?" Alice asked, smiling.
He turned to us and greeted Alice friendly while he just looked at me confused.
"It's all good, she's one of us now," Alice explained, and his face relaxed.
He pointed his finger at a screen that showed a satellite map of the city with small glowing dots in a pile.
"They have arrived and are in position. We are now waiting for Tom's signal so that they can mingle with his people when it starts. As far as I know, the action will take place after midnight. Tom is sending me a message on the secure phone," he said.
"Were there any changes?" Alice asked him. Void looked from her to me, and his smile disappeared.
"Well, there were probably a few injured ones among the hostages. That's all I know," he said.
I took a deep breath and looked at Alice who took my hand reassuringly.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine," she said.
After we were with Void and Erin, Alice and I went back to her house where Evelyn was looking after Drew. We had our girls' night and saw a children's movie with Drew. My thoughts only revolved around the things that Void said to us, but I was still happy when the little girl was so excited about my visit. Drew didn't fall asleep until late because of his excitement, which couldn't be said about me. I was awake most of the night and only fell asleep when tiredness overwhelmed me. I was woken up by a knock on the door and jumped out of the guest bed to the door. Alice was standing in front of me, and I looked at her, still tired and confused.
"I didn't want to wake you up, you barely slept. You should freshen up a bit, they're almost here," Alice said and smiled at me.
I looked at the clock, and it said it was almost noon. Damn!
" Is everybody fine?" I asked Alice.
Alice's smile disappeared as she looked at me. She shook her head. "There are hurt people," she said seriously.
