'I've been treading water for your love

As my light grows dim, maybe you're not strong enough boy

Your drums, we're drumming, your drums.'

We weren't staying at Marina and Harry's flat, but I just had to catch-up with her.

We had dinner all together and David sat next to me at the long table.

His large hand was firmly placed on my thigh and he kept it there through out our meal.

"So, David what do you do?"Harry questioned abruptly.

"I'm in fashion." He responded vaguely.

I wondered if he was ever ashamed of his reputation.

He rarely mentioned it when we met people.

No, David is a very confident man.

His ego is never wounded.

I looked up at him.

"Fashion? What department exactly?"Harry questioned.

"I'm a male model." He almost whispered.

Harry's eyes bulged out, surely he must have expected David to be an accountant or business man of sorts.

I held in my laughter.

People always misjudged my man.

"Thank you for the meal, it was great meeting you, Harry." David concluded.

That was our cue to leave.

I shrugged on my coat and prepared myself to leave.

Marina grabbed on to my wrist and whooshed me away momentarily.

"Lana, come out with me tonight.

There will be a car awaiting you in front of your hotel, sneak out and make sure Mr. Megalomaniac doesn't catch you."

I was hit with so many details it made me dizzy.

She fled out of my sight and We left their flat.

How will I sneak past David?

He sees all.

David lifted my hand up to his lips and kissed my knuckles.

"What are you thinking about, my love."He spoke tenderly.

I shook my head.

"I'm just tired, jet-lagged and all."I lied.

Since, when do I lie to the people I care about?

We reached our hotel and I immediately pretending to doze off.

I kept my ears alert and waited for David to fall asleep.

After more minutes of waiting and debating, I managed to slip out of bed and out the door.

God, did I feel horrible.

I felt like I was abandoning David.

It was just a moment driven by stupidity and peer pressure.

As expected, the vehicle awaited me outside and inside sat Marina and a handsome Harry.

They were so damn charming together.

I slipped in and breathed out harshly.

"Lana, babe. What's the matter?" Marina asked and took my hand.

"I shouldn't have left---David--he's going to be so mad."

"No, he won't I'm sure, he'll understand." Marina reassured.

The night was not as painful as expected. I always had a wild time with Marina.

We swayed and drank and shouted out explicit things.

All was swell, until fear had struck.

From the front of the club, his hawk eyes found mine.

And they were cold and almost lifeless.

David was spitting mad.
